where does one go now?

well where would one go?
to the playpen of course, to hear some words of wisdom the man himself.
to quote Quinn on this bittersweet day
"hey now " is what he had to say.
truly a wise man.

The TTB Forum.
(Gov't Mule needs a forum)
Just slip on an archive.org of TTB from 2014's summer tour doing Who Knows What Tomorrow May Bring.

I am going to bed.

Others mileage may vary, but the recent Lettuce show at the Fox's Egyptian Ballroom made me even more of a believer in that band. Great songs, great sound, great musicians, great band. They will now become my top music priority in a post-Allmans world.
There is still plenty of great live music, even if nothing will ever quite fill the void left by the Allman Brothers.

I was at that show. They are indeed good, but their lack of songs with lyrics or lyrical songs, make them not my first choice for a post-Allmans world. They're maybe 3rd or 4th. 😛
Was disappointed Krasno wasn't there also

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before
But the man there said the music wouldn't play
And in the streets the children screamed
The lovers cried and the poets dreamed
But not a word was spoken
The church bells all were broken
And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died

Got my tickets for TTB January 15 in Jacksonville. I'm looking for anything/everything Allman-flavored in between!

Mule
Gregg Allman Band
Dickey Betts and Great Southern
TTB
Jaimo Jazzz Band
Not the same but still plenty of Allman family bands to keep us occupied.

I can't find a replacement for the ABB. I won't even look for one. I will continue to feast upon live music.
There are still many fine artists out there shaking the tree of life and sending a shutter through the void.

The music lives on forever. It is forever ringing in the wind. It is forever being heard.....The music never dies.....
Thank you Duane

govt mule and TTB!!!

"They (Lettuce) are indeed good, but their lack of songs with lyrics or lyrical songs, make them not my first choice for a post-Allmans world."
I understand. I am a big fan of instrumental music, so the lack of singing doesn't bother me in the least. The one thread tying all my favorite bands together is a heavy dose of instrumentals. The Meters, Santana, and ABB all have lots of instrumentals in the mix.
Having said that, how about that Alecia Shakour guest spot at the Atlanta show? I especially enjoyed that version of Do Your Thing. That woman can sing!

+1
And I might add to keep the vibe alive by sharing and passing along all things music. It is the one language human beings all share.

Here is a list of the bands that will be continually follow:
1. Gov't Mule
2. Railroad Earth
3. Chris Robinson Brotherhood
4. Tedeschi Trucks Band
5. Hard Working Americans
6. Any Dead related band with Phil or Bobby.
