I've been listening to Dickey's buddy, the late great Gary Stewart. He left us

with some of the finest drinkin', cheatin' and hurtin' songs ever. I didn't

realize he cut his cover of `Ramblin' Man' in 1973 - thought it was later on.

This cat is sorely missed.

Always been an Allman Brother fan but I am a late comer to the Grateful Dead. I am just starting to buy some of their live stuff and there are so many it makes my head spin to figure out which ones to buy. Started with some of the older live shows and the Venetta Creamery 1972 show is amazing IMHO

It is a lot to take in.  I always go back to early 70s and 1977 as my most favorite Dead years.

Grateful Dead. Never had time for them before the pandemic. Once the pandemic hit, I set aside 3 hours to listen closely to a live show from start to finish from 1971 era. I think I've listened to all of the live shows available on iTunes since.

https://www.discogs.com/artist/2049882-Gloria-Barnes

Gloria “Towanda” Barnes is an obscure soul sister whom little is known except what can be gleaned from the notes on the back of her Maple album, Uptown, from 1973. She came from Harlem, NYC, and was discovered on Mary Fox’s Northern Soul Night on Radio Stoke, UK. Her first release was ‘If I Am Guilty’ / ‘Oh Darling’ on the Groovy Imprint, as Towanda Barnes, but she is best known on the Northern Soul circuit for the tracks ‘You Don’t Mean It’ (backed by Lewis/Brantley song ‘Find Someone to Love Me’) and ‘Love Slips Through My Fingers’, interestingly both originally recorded by the Ohio Players.

The 2015 debut album from 'The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble' out of San Diego, California...

https://thesurefiresoulensemble.bandcamp.com/album/sure-fire-soul-ensemble

The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble - If you are a fan of the organ (and we know you are), gritty Funk, and beautiful original soundtracks, these guys are for you. The SFSE is a heavy, original, instrumental soul band based out of San Diego, CA that released their debut self titled album on Colemine Records in June of 2015, and the band will be releasing their sophomore album in the fall of 2016 on the same label.
