Rock legends UFO have announced a U.S. tour with very special guests SAXON, beginning March 9 in Houston, Texas and continuing into early April.

UFO, with its longstanding lineup of Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards/guitar), Andy Parker (drums), Vinnie Moore (guitar) and Rob De Luca (bass), is coming back to the U.S. after a phenomenally successful sold-out tour in early 2016. They are currently working on their 22nd studio album — reportedly a collection of covers — after the last studio release, "A Conspiracy Of Stars", in 2015.

SAXON will be touring in support of its latest release, 2015's "Battering Ram", as well as the new double live album set, "Let Me Feel Your Power" (out October 28 in North America), both on the UDR Music label. After great success with both U.S. headline shows and dates with JUDAS PRIEST over last few years, the band will return as part of this great package. SAXON is Biff Byford (vocals), Paul Quinn (guitar), Nigel Glockler (drums), Doug Scarrett (guitar) and Tim "Nibbs" Carter (bass).

UFO's Phil Mogg states: "We are polishing the guitars, cleaning up the drums, I have a new front tooth, and our crew have bought themselves fresh mascara, some new tunes, and an airline ticket to the USA, to be joining our old pals SAXON on what will be a celebrational tour of all our favorite places. Look forward to seeing you there! Kisses, UFO."

SAXON's Biff Byford adds: "It's great to be back on the road with UFO. The last time we toured together was in the 80's so it should be fun and a unique package for the fans. See you in March. Keep the faith."

Special guest on all shows is Jared James Nichols.

OMG loved some Saxon back in my college days. Is Michael back playing with UFO or is it Vinnie or both?

No worries.

Nothing against Vinnie, I respect him as a player
just not my cup of tea when it comes to UFO. I think his
playing is kind of sterile, if that makes sense. I prefer something
more of an organic feel and a little more of an edge with some
rawness. Not that I would want Schenker back in the band, but
would like to see another presence as far a guitar player
writing the music.

For me the Vinnie era of UFO has been hit
or miss as far as the studio output. Nothing really stands out.
The last two were kinda weak IMHO. I thought when the brought
in Chris Tsangarides to produce he would have had more of an old school approach
and bring back that UFO hard rock feel. The latest one
really has not grabbed me at all. I was disappointed being a huge fan of that group.

I'd hope Vinnie plays a little different than his Shrapnel days. He was extremely talented, but my least favorite of that bunch. Boy I remember Chris Tsangrides too. I believe he produced all of Gary Moore's classic stuff. Thanks for the flashback dude. Grin

Both bands still "bring it". Both Phil and Biff's voices are still in pretty good shape.

Agree. Phil sounds just as good as he di 30-40 yrs ago. Hasn't lost anything in my opinion.
