My favorite song is the second one they play.

I've seen them on TV twice in recent months and at first I thought they were lame and uninspiring.  But after the second time, suddenly I began to become attracted to this odd style. Apparently its Reggae from Thailand music. The drummer left have of his kit home.

Strange but catchy. Guitar player seems to know a lot of cords.

I have to say I'm still unimpressed/underwhelmed by this band. I stumbled onto them maybe a couple of years ago, thinking they would be the type of act that I'd be into but after a few attempts to get into them, I bailed out on the band. They're not bad but I just find them rather boring.

@psy

This one is pretty good. They are clean and good musicians but I hear you about the weird music.  Thailand Reggae is what kit is I think.

@psy I totally disagree and agree. I've been digging Khruangbin a lot since I stumbled upon them a few years ago, they manage to do a lot with little. The bass lines are slick and airy, the drummer is in that pocket, the guitar lines are catchy and sometimes funky.

But it's ambience music, like a Robert Rodriguez film soundtrack - I wouldn't go see them live. It's something I put on in the background while I work. After about 5 tunes I skip to another band.

 I was in an indie music store last year and this was playing. I was

impressed enough to buy the CD. I must spin it again. Thanks.

I agree with you that they are all good musicians but like you say, I wouldn't bother to see them play live. I just don't think their music would hold my interest for more than 15 to 20 minutes.

I really like them live; there is a great hour-long video of them at a Pitchfork on Youtube.

The studio CD I bought seems a bit sterile, but I absolutely love to put a live recording on and groove to it. Plus, I am in love with the bassist.

I also have to admit that the band caught my eye mainly because of the bass player. I'm always a sucker for an attractive woman with long black hair and a fringe.

@jimsheridan I imagine you know Jim all the men on this site who have watched just 10 seconds of one of their videos are in love with the bass player!!:) I actually turned up the volume wearing my best head phones and she plays very well too.
