Stevie Wonder:Songs in the Key of Life Tour...Anyone here had the pleasure?

Hittin' Atlanta tomorrow...who's with me?! Anyway, it occurs to me that I am as excited about this show as I have been for any I've seen...what an awesome feeling, even after all these hazy years, lol! Anyone caught one of these performances? I've read epic reviews but none from all the well-trusted Hittin' the Webbers'....

Andrew, Mary Beth and Nick are travelling down from Charlotte for the show as well. I know she'd love to hear a shout out from you!

Hey Willie...that's awesome! It's been too long, I'll definitely holler at her! How bout you man...gonna be able to make it?

I caught the MSG show in New York. The sound was pretty bad with almost painfully pounding bass, so that took away from the performance. I really like Steve Wonder, but since I was not familiar with all the material from Songs in the Key of Life, I missed some of the significance and power of what I experienced.
Since I taped the show, I got to listen to it repeatedly over the couple of weeks following. the more I listened the more I liked what I heard.
The band was massive... two sets of backup singers, several keyboards, very full horn section, base, drums, guitars, percussion, harmonica... Steveie had lots of help with vocals, but was in fine form the entire night.
By now the kinks should be out of the show and if you bring earplugs, you will have a fantastic night.

Caught the Philly show. AWESOME. I laughed, I cried I danced. It was special. 42 piece band. Stevie was in great voice. I was blown away. Definitely a "do not miss" show if you love Stevie or, Songs in the Key of Life, as much as I do.

Last weekend, travelled to Chicago. Great Show!!! He came out about 8:30 and played until 11:30+ with a set break.

Last night in Atlanta was one of the top two or three shows I've ever witnessed. It was SUBLIME! Stevie Wonder truly has not lost a step vocally...his talents are other-worldly! The big band was so masterful in bringing to life the moods and timbres of one of the true all-time great albums. Pure joy for a near-capacity crowd. DO NOT miss this performance if you have the opportunity! God bless Stevie Wonder!!!!

It'd be cool if he'd come to Dallas, but I don't think that's gonna happen.
