I use to play slider guitar but I found that those little bitty hamburgers got all stuck in the strings.

The Steve Via fan checking out the ABB from South America calling the technique "SLIDER" guitar was funny when I watched it the first time but I knew what he meant.
Some used to call it bottle neck guitar years ago. And there are pictures of old blues players with a finger stuck into the neck of a glass bottle holding it upside down against the neck.
I saw a video of Derek Trucks and he picked up several things including a butter knife and a TV remote and played some notes saying one can use lots of things.
Why a glass slide? Derek told the guy he uses a glass slide because he saw a picture of Duane Allman with a glass slide and decided that is what he would use too. There are a few of Duane with a green colored glass slide but most show him with clear glass.
I saw a player on Austin City Limits use a full beer bottle. Danny Gatton I believe is who it was.
