Any opinions on this CD?  I see that it is on Arista from 1981 so I'm wondering if it is pop oriented like the two ABB Arista CDs from the early 1980s.

Thanks

Chuck and the ABB learned that at Arista Records, at least then, you made the kind of album they wanted or they would lock you out of the studio until the contract was up.

That didn't bother Gregg and Dickey. They refused to go in again if they had to make another Brothers of the Road with a producer sent by the label. So what?? Brothers of the Road sold less copies than Reach For The Sky and it didn't sell well.

Gregg and Dickey backed the band out of the 1980's and put other bands together and yes we're back in small theatres and even clubs and bars. I saw Betts, Hall, Leavell, Trucks in a small restaurant/club in Roanoke, VA called the Coffee Pot. It was incredible seeing Dickey, Chuck Leavell and Butch Trucks in just a small room. Everybody was up front and close.

This was taped for a local PBS network. But here they are in a small room.
