RIP to one of the most underrated drummers in rock n roll history. I loved his effort and his outgoing personality will be missed.

RIP to the late Butch Trucks.
A huge loss for the Allmans community-family,band,friends and fans.
A sad day.

Crushing loss. A great drummer and one helluva character.
RIP Butch.
I was blessed to see you in action multiple times. I reckon you are already jamming with Duane, Berry, Woody, and Dangerous Dan with Red Dog controlling the set up.
Farewell. 🙁

We loved watching him perform - at the Beacon at Peach, Wanee and other places. It's hard to imagine that that life force is gone, we will miss him.

So very sad. Condolences to all.
Getting to be a stellar line- up waiting for us all . . .

RIP to a tremendous talent and force.
Condolences to his loved ones.
You will be missed

been a tough few month for the music world
RIP Freight Train
Leader of one amazing percussion section!!!

RIP Butch! Thanks for all the great music, and great shows! Your music and memory live on!

I am very saddened to hear this about Butch.
The best tribute I can come up with is that when many left during the drum solo, I always stayed.

RIP Butch! Heartbreaking news for sure.

RELIX just sent me an email about Butch's passing.
I am in shock!

Rest in peace butch. Thanks for the music

One could cut the sadness here with a knife.... just want to say Love and Hugs to all here.....
I am so weary of death..................

Saw this, but link is now dead.

had tix to see the freight train in albany ny this past spring. could not make it as a friend needed a ride home after cancer treatment. had tix to see les brers in boston this fall and had to give them to my son as I could not get out of work. Feeling bitter I missed my last two chances to see Butch. Trying to balance it with all the joy I was given seeing the brothers over 30 times. RIP Butch and prayers to all his family . Prayers for all the family online as well. Hope all living members can and will attend his services. Peace

So sad to hear of Butch's passing. He was way to young. My prayers and sympathies to all his family and friends.

Terrible news, sad to hear.
Prayers to the family.

Oh no! lunch appetite gone now with this news,
Feel so sad for Butch's family, friends and everyone who's life he touched personally and musically.
Thinking back to all the times I watched him in awe up on stage playing his heart out. Thanks for the memories, thanks for the music!

Sending love & condolences to the entire Allman Brothers family. RIP, Butch Trucks.

Fare Thee Well, Brother Butch. Thank you.

Thanks for the link to Alan's piece. It is some sad news to hear for sure.
ABB wordsmith Alan Paul wrote a nice piece on Butch and the gut punch we are all feeling this morning.

"I'm heartbroken," Gregg Allman said in a statement. "I've lost another brother and it hurts beyond words. Butch and I knew each other since we were teenagers and we were bandmates for over 45 years. He was a great man and a great drummer and I'm going to miss him forever."

This news is so stunning and unexpected. The "freight train" also was the "iron man", missing less than a handful of ABB performances. Seemingly still going strong both personally and professionally nothing was more surprising than hearing that he is gone.
Thanks for all the incredible music, Butch. You will be incredibly missed. Condolences to the entire Trucks family.

Am hard pressed to think of even A One ABB show sans Butch -- every single one ever -- sans Butchie, our world is dimmer today
when the Mar & Sol record came out w/the AWTNMore, it just reinforced again what a great player Butch was
& once again in later years, hearing him for the first time by himself when I scored the BHLT boot, & in Frogwings
A tremendous melodic player -- in tandem w/Jaimoe, that much better -- finding yet another groove when Marc came along
thanks for the music & RIP, Butch -- oh my those early 70s bro...

My sincere condolences to Butch's family and friends and all his fans who, like me, are shell shocked by this tragic loss. Rest In Peace Butch and enjoy tonights jam in Heaven with Duane, Berry, Allen, Dangerous Dan and the rest. Your drum skills and personality will be sadly missed down here on earth.

Haven't posted on here in a real long time but wanted to send my prayers to Butch and his family.
Sad day indeed but it's bittersweet to know his legacy will last forever through his music.
Rest in Peace Butch.
