R.I.P ken Hensley.

Just read the very sad news that ex-URIAH HEEP keyboard player Ken Hensley has passed away after a short illness. I've always been a huge fan of Uriah Heep and have seen them many many times over 40 odd years. I'm truely gutted, especially coming so soon after Lee Kerslake passing away in September.

I have a large poster from Demons and Wizards, which my wife made me relegate to the garage .... such a great album.... sorry to hear this ... RIP Ken.....

RIP. I went to see them in the early 1970's from hearing Easy Livin' on the radio when it was being played a lot. Wasn't familiar with any of the guys in the band but they were tight, fresh and had a new, different sound.

I went to see Uriah Heep once but they didn't play. An announcer (local radio jock) came out and announced that "one of the boys wasn't feeling well". He got pelted with everything that wasn't nailed down. Word later was that one of the band members was just too trashed to play. Great opening set by an unheard of band called Earth, Wind and Fire.
I think Ken actually played with Blackfoot for a while.
By all accounts, Ken Hensley was a solid player.
Rest.

One of my favorite keyboard players of all time and a great songwriter. I love those old Uriah Heep albums as well as the two Blackfoot albums he played on (Siogo and Vertical Smile). RIP
