Pot Will Kill You

Can't remember the sit-com, but Harry Morgan appeared later on as an older stoned-out jazz cat - a more believable role!
I can't figure out who set legalization back so far in mass/pop-culture. Was it the producers of "Reefer Madness"? The deadpan of Sgt. Friday on Dragnet? Or was it actually Cheech and Chong who in addition to popularizing the substance ...created the imagery of the bumbling, absent-minded, screw-up stoner? Did they also teach Biden to say, "maaan"?
Congrats to all who enjoy legal recreational cannabis! In another century or two, those of us here in the deep south may one day enjoy similar freedom!
EDIT: The name of the sit-com was "Grace Under Fire". the episode was titled, "Head Games". The star of the show (Brett Butler) was trying fix her mom up with an older gentleman. Then she caught the guy tokin' up .... Sadly, I can't find a video (short clip) with Harry's character.

The genie is out of the bottle Rusty and if the Feds reschedule cannabis and remove the ridiculous banking restrictions I think it is just a matter of time before the Southern States legalize.
I never thought I would see it legalized in my lifetime so don't give up hope.

David Lee Roth recently admitted he spends about $100 grand a year for pot. Says he is toking everyday.
I was reading about Louis Armstrong the great jazz trumpet player. He smoked pot everyday too.
But where did he get it? Back in that day it had to be hard to find.
Oh maybe Frank and Dean knew where to look!

@bill_graham Here's (to me) the weirdest part: okay, you can buy gummies, edibles and even "smokeable flower" of this stuff called Delta 8 "THC". Delta 8 is basically (to my understanding) THC that has been ... derived from actual cannabis - and then (somehow) an offending molecule of some sort is removed. Then this derived substance is sprayed onto HEMP flower. Smoking this stuff produces a very pot-like buzz. It's probably not like David Lee Roth reefer, but it is similar enough (in sensation) to actual marijuana that you just scratch your skull 'til it bleeds wondering how THIS stuff is legal and regular, natural, God-created cannabis is not. That I do not fully understand what this sprayed derivative is - or if it's any better/worse than marijuana causeS me a little bit of anxiety. Since my connection to the bona-fide substance died of Covid, this is my only game in town. With election year in full swing ... not a fockin' peep outta any politician on this.

Funny story ... kinda. I had been obtaining Delta 8 products by mail through several sources. I noticed that a Delta 8 Smoke Shop had opened up not too far from where I live. I checked 'em out. Getting mostly the same product without paying shipping costs (and having to wait around all day for the UPS man - who will not leave the box on my porch). Had a long discussion over the similarity of effects between Delta 8 "flower" and actual weed. Turns out that there are actual weed dealers who buy this stuff and then re-sell it as actual marijuana. I guess that if the seller acts paranoid and secretive enough about the transaction the buyer accepts that their purchase is actual cannabis! Reinforcing the lack of logic behind Delta 8 being illegal and cannabis not.
Also there is now something called THCA - which is more potent (and more expensive) than typical Delta8 flower. I just wonder if the southern po-po knows how to distinguish the difference?

NY legalized several years ago but still hasn't gotten its shit together.
Dispensaries are few and far between.
This week they just realized they had to get the rules set for home grows even though most law enforcement gave up on that angle when it was clear the cost of helicopter flyovers looking for pot wasn't financially sustainable.
My sons and I have been growing for years and this was the first Summer I grew outdoors since I'm just off a state road and have a firehouse a few hundred yards away where sheriffs park regularly.
My outdoor grow produced a little over two pounds of pretty good Peyote Gorilla from Royal Queen Seeds.
I also never thought I'd see the day.
My parents are in their 80's and are using cannabis chocolate for pain and sleep.
The times they are a changing!
I hope they can finally get it right nation-wide.
