Check this out. The similarities between this song and the You Don’t Love Me jam is uncanny. ABB had to have had this in mind when they didn’t the YDLM jams. Especially the back end of this Mac song, and Duane’s transition solo before the ABB YDLM jam, it’s so similar.

and the start of this song is much like the jam that starts right after Duane’s YDLM solo.

it’s very interesting.

Yes there is little doubt about the YDLM jam on At Fillmore East being influenced by Peter Green and early Mac.

Dickey said Duane's slide playing was mostly influenced by harmonica players, Jesse Ed Davis and Elmore James.

Mountain Jam was influenced by the Grateful Dead.

I remember years ago Peter Green was cited as a reason Duane switched from a Strat to a Les Paul.

Funny thing is Peter Green eventually gave his Greeny Les Paul which the lead guitar player for Metallica paid $2 million to own it, to Gary Moore and the last several times I saw Peter Green ( I'm a fan) he was playing a Strat.

Mac (and The J Geils Band) were both playing You Don't Love Me prior to when the ABB added it to their set. Mac also covered Need Your Love So Bad long before it appeared on the Enlightened Rogues album.

That was uncanny to hear. Thanks for posting that. Long felt that Duane might have got some of the twin guitars concept from Fleetwood but here some of the specific music too. Most interesting. But hearing them side by side, in a way, how much greater a guitar player than Peter is, is Duane. While Peter just rides over the tempo of the drums,  Duane digs into the beat, is the drums too, in his playing, a real swinger, as much as any of the big band era players who had all the pretty dancers to play along with. Plus Duane's speech like sincerity that few could match. I find the gulf widening more and more for me, though I'm grateful for Peter and Danny and Eric and all the rest.

@tenorsfan Have you ever compared the Duane led band to later lineups on the Allman Brothers Band? Of course you use the same song to really hear it.

Here is the last line up doing Trouble No More.

Now the Duane led original band. Notice how this swings and jells more.

Here is the 1973 version of the band. Another good version but doesn't swing like the Duane led original band.

I'm thinking Berry Oakley likey makes the difference.

I love Peter Green. I have some Fleetwood Mac with Peter.

This nice guitar sound is typical of Peter.
