Enjoyed the interview. I went to see Gov't Mule twice in 1994:and bought their debut album. Mother Earth is my favorite cut.Â
Saw Warren and Allen earlier in a nextdoor Mexican restaurant and then they said Gov't Mule was completely a side project and it was Woody who wanted to try a power 3 piece band but the Allman Brothers is their actual gig but they play mostly in spring and summer which leaves time for other things.Â
The year before I saw Warren in that same Mexican restaurant and he was playing the same club in support of his solo album which I also bought and enjoy.Â
One interesting thing about Warren is he knows the words of tons of songs and the song structures. I saw Mule playing a Pink Floyd set years ago and they nailed it. Warren is mostly a Les Paul player but on that set he played a green Strat and his tone was David Gilmore completely. Obiviously Warren knows gear to do that.Â
