My New Interview with Duane Betts

Short, but very nice write-up Derek.

Derek,
Thanks for posting. I really like the continuing evolution of Duane. He seems real comfortable now & his playing is really, really good. He and Johnny Stachela are a good combo

@redhouse1969 I saw them twice in 2020 and it was a good show. Organ and drums good too. Devon Allman played some decent guitar solos. Devon inherited all 42 of Gregg Allman's guitars and he has several with him and I never saw Gregg play many of them on stage.
Johnny is a nice slide player. Played a SG both times.
Duane has about 6 of Dickey's guitars with him. Three electrics and three acoustics. 90 percent of the time he is on Dickey's 2001 signature custom Goldtop LP. Has a real nice tone.

Nicely done, Derek. Thanks for posting. My favorite "new" band out there
Love hearing a 3rd record is coming --- these guys can write!

Have seen them twice in Key West; first at an outdoor show in 2019 and then this past June indoors. Both shows were just great. Devon is a wonderful host and leader and does a great job. Duane's guitar work is so good. at the last show Devon kind of abruptly left the stage. I thought, Oh No, is the show over already? Nonplussed, Duane just started in on the opening chords of Jessica, and they jammed away for another 45 minutes. Devon came back, they did a great encore, and it was quite a night. Berry opened the show with Trouble No More, and smiled the whole night through. Johnny is great on slide. The entire band is tight. The highlight for me was Savannah's Dream. you could see and feel so much Dickey in Duane's song.
