I'm new to the forum but have been checking in for a long long time. The Allmans and their extended family have been the soundtrack of my life. I'm passing on the joy of the music to my kids(Luke and Josie). Luke my son loves music and has an affinity for the blues and Gov't Mule.

As a proud daddy I want share the joy of a little boy singing the blues/gospel.

Ha, that is cute and cool. Ok dad, it’s never too early for guitar training.

Oh the guitar force is strong with Luke. I already promised him my Derek Trucks signature gibson SG when he's 12. He loves red and the "horns"...it reminds him of a scary dragon.

I’m looking at the Epiphone SG myself. I’ve been a lifelong Fender player who took up slide seriously about a year ago. Sir Duane and Derek made the right call with choice of slide as those bottles are great. I had tried several slides but those just sounded and felt right the first time I tried em.

I haven't gotten too much into slide. My idols set the bar a bit too high. When i do play i use standard with the bottle so i can always fall back on what i know best in case i get lost.
