Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Normal bias, high bias - 60 min, 90 min tapes - maxell, TDK, Denon...
Happily gave Mr. Ottens plenty of business back in the day - have about 100 or so of his invention, nearly all of which were blanks originally - ‘1st gen>2nd gen>rough’....😊
still listen to them today, & RIP, Lou Ottens

Thanks for sharing. His invention was revolutionary at the time and thanks to him we have many amazing audience tapes from our favorite bands. Also made music more portable and allowed me to put a Craig Power Play cassette deck in my 73 Chevy Impala cruising mobile back in the day.
I am still amazed that cassettes are making a comeback today. People are asking amazing prices for single blank TDK and Maxell high bias blanks now as no one is making new high bias these days. There is also a nice market for refurbed cassette recording decks.

Indebted for sure, we all are thankful and have enjoyed countless hours fun. THANKS

Yes , thanks for what he did back in the day, it served me well them. Lotsa nights going to bed listening to a 120 min Maxwell tape of Made in Japan that on my stereo cassette player that would flip sides. Great memories!!

Cool posts, & jszfunk, yep if one synced it just right - right b4 BO starts his solo on side IV - voila, the whole Mtn Jam, uninterrupted😁 -
all the talk back then tho was how 120 min tapes were bad for your player -
all I know is you & I & probly others too dug Mtn Jam uninterrupted long b4 The Fillmore Concerts & that Made in Japan stuff😎 -
same w/Mountain’s two-sided Twin Peaks version of NanSleighride - that’s on the other side of the Mtn Jam along with TYA’s 20 min Atlanta Pop version of I Can’t Keep From Cryin Sometimes😮🎵🎶 - it’s my Extended Jams tape, plainly labeled🤗✊
all due to Lou Ottens’ invention
RIP

At the end of his last breath ... his life started all over again at day 1.
