Well, just got done listening to this album, and I think it's awesome!! This guy definitely knows how to write a song, and you understand every word!! It's just him by himself with acoustic guitar, which is all you need sometimes. If you haven't heard it, please do so right now!!

Just got the album yesterday, but saw him solo 2-3 weeks ago in Chicago where he did most of this album.  What a great show - they didn't allow anyone to have their phones out taking pictures or videos and everyone was very respectful during the show, not yelling out stupid stuff like I've seen at other shows.  It was refreshing to see a show with no phones being held up in front of you.  I've seen him solo twice and with the 400 Unit 4 times - and I'm seeing him with the 400 Unit in July.

I have tried playing it twice but the conditions and timing just haven't been right for a proper listen.  I am traveling to Nashville to take in 2 Isbell acoustic shows.  I'll take whatever he decides to play and by going two nights I hope I rewarded with variety of the songs.

I would also recommend his latest release with his full band The 400 Unit.  The album is called 'Weathervanes' and there are some great rockers on there which have become some of my favorite "This Ain't It", "Miles", "When We Were Close" and if you want to look up a live version of "King of Oklahoma" I think you will like what you see/hear!

@nebish Thank you. I'll do that. I've heard "This Ain't It" on an album rock station. The two I can get here don't play old stuff as much as they used to. Very little ABB and I haven't heard Lynyrd Skynyrd in months.

Caught two shows at the new Pinnacle venue in Nashville last Thursday and Friday.  Nice place.  I was going to maybe go Saturday too, but decided to see Kelley's Heros play from 6-10 instead at Robert's Western World.  That was outstanding.

The Isbell shows were very nice, pretty unique and happy I got to see him alone acoustic.  He did have David Rawlings join him for 3 encore songs each night.  The only repeats I got from Thursday to Friday were the half dozen or so new songs he played each night and then he did Cast Iron Skillet and If We Were Vampires both nights too.  All the other older songs were different.  He did one cover song each night, Poncho and Lefty and then Girl From North Country with Rawlings.  Bought a $45 shirt and some $7.78 PBRs which was the cheapest drink there.  There is an outside bar on the top level with a projection screen where they show video of the show.  But they said they weren't allowed to the first night out of some fear that somebody would live stream it by their phone.  There was an announcement about no photos or videos, but occasionally people got some discreet cell phone captures for themselves.  He didn't want people moving during the songs so ushers had to hold all the people back from returning to their seats until song breaks.  Some good stories between songs, which I enjoy just as much as the actual songs sometimes.  He didn't play Cover Me Up either night, which in a way I was happy he wasn't playing something out of a feeling of obligation.  Funny moment though he was talking about Southeastern going gold and then referenced his song on A Star Is Born which has gone platinum and then he said something to the effect of "another song somebody else recorded but it's still in the box" - implying I think that Wallen never released his version as a single, but the sales of the record it appears on has gone platinum many times over.  I liked the talking between songs a lot.

The only show I know of that was online from his solo performance was a 1-19-25, but it has been banned from dime and I didn't get their usual email explaining why.  Hopefully some more come up for others to listen to. Edit - there are 3 on The Traders Den (2-6, 2-20, 3-12) plus the 1-19-25 show if you are interested.

Nashville was way more fun than I anticipated.  Didn't step foot any of the dozen+ celebrity owned bars, but there are still a lot of others to spend time in.  Obviously Robert's was my favorite, I was there a lot.  Kelley's Heros and Chuck Mead were excellent was was Brazilbilly.  Place was constantly packed.  Great spot.  Layla's was another favorite of mine, not as crowded and saw a couple good bands there.  Legends was ok too.  Wandered over to Printer's Alley to the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar and saw Big Monti and his band there.  It was fun.  Lots of good musicians, but Luke McQueary was a huge stand out.  As much as I liked seeing the Isbell shows, I liked the rest of my time just as much if not more - so very glad I made the trip.
