It's more fake AI news from the same phony clickbait website. Are you sure the DJs you're listening to are even real? Maybe stick with Pandora.

Always good to look these things up before you share.

@porkchopbob yes you are right. I listen in the car. They played Blue Sky and latter Jessica today but it may be some out of town FM service for the DJ and music.

Not falling for anything on this station again. I emailed them just now and complained.

They actually play classic rock but the weather is my people on local TV here. Perhaps the DJ who talks every few songs is not even local.

Wonder why they are picking on Jaimoe?

This same group of local stations has another that plays top 40:oldies. They announced today that Lou Christie passed away at 82. I remember Lou's "Lightening Strikes" hit single in the 1960's.

I want to salute Mississippi's Jai Johnny Johnson anyway. He'll be 81 this July I believe. Dickey was 80 so Jaimoe will be the oldest of the founding members. Dickey 80. Gregg and Butch  69. Duane and Berry 24.

Jaimoe said Duane had his eye on Berry but Jaimoe was the first musician Duane said you're in too. Berry was second to join and the plan was a trio. Phil Walden wanted Duane to put together a Jimi Hendrix/Cream type band.

They recorded several tracks but Jaimoe wasn't savvy about how Duane was used to recording in a studio so to expedite things Johnny Sandlin was brought in for the album which never came out. Duane decided it wasn't working and he needed to ditch the trio.

We all know at that point Dickey was added. And after that Butch Trucks was eventually added to be the time keeper on drums but with Jaimoe also playing his style meshing with Butch perfectly. Then Gregg was brought in to do most of the singing and play keys.

Here is Jaimoe playing by himself with Sea Level from their first album. Nice visuals too of Jaimoe.

Butch Trucks said when they got ready to record Standback, a song Berry Oakley wrote and Gregg Allman added words, he thought Jaimoe's style was better suited to be the main time keeper instead of Butch. And I think Butch was right. The main drum track on this is so funky and jazzy.
