Jaimoe kicking off Allman Brothers tribute tour.

According to info I just heard in the car on the classic rock radio station that the only surviving member of the Allman Brothers Band, Jaimoe Johnson is kicking off a tour this summer dates to be announced as a tribute to his brothers Gregg and Duane Allman.
Jaimoe was quoted as saying all who will join him on state will be musicians who have Allman Brothers Band connections and/or heavily influenced by the band's music and style.
Hopefully this is a serious endeavor and the musicians, whoever they will be, are serious about honoring the band.
Maybe some of them have played in the band. I hope !!

It's likely false. There was a fake AI article floating around facebook that announced something similar, the DJs probably fell for it.
Right now the only shows of his that are confirmed is sitting in with Friends of the Brothers.

Jaimoe has been out playing with Alan Paul and the Friends of The Brothers and I believe they have more gigs coming up. .

@porkchopbob I hope so. And thanks for telling me. I found a similar story on the internet and why would Jaimoe make this announcement now and state the dates and cities and the musicians joining him will be announced later???
Plus it sounds as if it would be a money grab for Jaimoe and whoever the players happen to be.
I wondered if perhaps people such as Reese Wynans, Chuck Leavell, Les Dudek, Paul Riddle, Ace Doucette would be in it. It would sound good but how would they know the crowds would be there on a substantial tour. Touring today is expensive. I've heard some groups can't afford to go out now and hope to get on a bigger group's tour.
Gov't Mule just announced their first big tour since last spring and they are doing a number of dates with TTB and Duane Betts and Palmetto Motel will be playing a lot as is Devon Allman so it seems Jaimoe would want some of those people involved. We saw who he recruited for the recent Brothers shows.
Yes I guess I fell for it too. Though I was puzzled.
