If TTB gets added, then ABB gotta play a few tunes together, right?

I was surprised by this as well...figured they were one of the few "locks". Dig the Oteil and Butch jams.

Wonder if TTB gets added later due to promo/schedule stuff.

If not, Jimmy H is there 2 nights.

I'm liking the lineup - though I would also like to see TTB added - but Zappa Plays Zappa being there is great......looks like another great time in Live Oak...............

Frog-wings, Frog-wings, Frog-wings 😮 hehe
Any sorta impromptu jam (why not Wanee 😮 )
if Jimmy Hall came that'd be the perfect time for a similar one-off spur of the moment BHLT set too, w/Butch, Chuck, Rook etc -- no Dickey obviously, but THIS would be the way to get the guys all back playing music together again/
is through the unplanned jams

those bands I thought were The Shit & how much fun (you would think) it'd b for those guys to bring back this music -- so much of their best live stuff never saw the stage-light of day
Wanee will be a blast, just like it always is Grin

If anyone can help answer these questions, I'd appreciate it.

1. Will there be single day tickets available?
2. What is the "primitive camping" site like? Is it like the Peachfestival site? I did not like how packed that site was. I'm hoping for more space.
3. Can you park your car at your tent site or do you shuttle to camp site?
4. I didn't see the date and time for each band. Is that out yet? If not, when is that normally posted?

Derek is probably purposely distancing himself from the fest

Agreed. If TTB were there, there would be alot of pressure on the guys to do an ABB set. I got to believe Derek did that intentionally to avoid that situation, it's just too soon after playing their "last show." Then people would be saying "well hell, might as well bang out some Beacon dates in March too. Then hit the Peach Fest in August as well. Then all of sudden nothing has changed. Derek has some balls, surely it isn't making everyone very happy though. I think it is the right move, but I guarantee Derek and the TTB hate to be missing Wanee. Maybe next year, it would be better timing.

I'd say the odds are 0% that they all get together on stage at once in the next year or so and probably less than 10% that all of the final incarnation of the band play together as the ABB or an ABB set ever again.

Even if TTB is announced later, I'm guessing the members of the band would make a conscious effort to avoid getting everyone together on stage just to not cheapen the final shows. I'm sure there will be occasional guest appearances, but likely no ABB reunions or sets...just a song here and there.

Probably from the roots Rock Revival thing, like he did with Cody and Luther for the HTN show a couple of years ago.

I guess Oteil should have some interesting friends as well.

It would be pretty cool to see Ivan Neville with Earth Wind and Fire.

I think you are right that April is too soon for any type of reunion, but I truly think a mini set will happen at Peachfestival.

Isn't TTB the headliner of the Sunshine Music & Blues Festival? Anyway nice lineup but Cheap Trick seems like an odd choice.

I once saw Cheap Trick and Joan Jett and Stevei Ray Vaughan all at the same show at UCONNs Spring Fling...wasn't as strange as it sounds....

i believe there have been single day tickets available......they usually post info on this shortly before festival...

camping is much better than peachfest....

you can camp near your car........or not if ya prefer...

its an established campground----with plenty of room in either fields or the woods....

pick yer own spot basically..........

i prefer not to be in the crowded parts so i go off on my own......and find a private place to camp....

if you want to be in the crowded section---you can be.........if you dont----just drive around and find own place....

and if ya have a bike---bring it.........makes it so much easier....

schedule also gets released right before festival.......about a week or so before.....

for me----it is one of the best festival sites ive been to.......

Thanks for the camping tips. But no dice on betting cash.....odds are definitely not in my favor. I just don't get how you have a festival called Peachfest without the ABB. And why start it 3 years ago if they all discussed breaking up in 2014? But I know I shouldn't expect logic in this situation.

I'm also surprised and disappointed there's no TTB but there is no lack of good music to be heard. Yonder Mountain String Band is nice addition. If you haven't heard 'em, you should.

"Butch Trucks & Very Special Friends"

That name advertised at a roadside bar would likely pull in 30 people.
Yet he somehow gets billing above Hot Tuna, Leftover Salmon & The Word....... Smile

There could be something to this, although I suspect TTB is simply not planning to play Wanee. But it's possible there are restrictions on geography or other in-state festivals where TTB can book, or rather announce publicly, until after these shows play or the Pensacola show in late February. Same thing happened with ABB in 2010 after booking Macon and kinda screwed up Atlanta options.

The thing is, Live Oak is 220 miles from St. Pete and 275 miles from Pensacola and 350+ miles from Boca, so that seems awfully far away to be hamstrung by a no-compete clause. Most tours can announce all the major Florida cities at the same time... this isn't like Tampa vs. St. Pete or Miami vs. Ft. Lauderdale where it's the same market. Live Oak is clear across the state.

I think TTB is just staying away to avoid the awkwardness and speculation/anticipation of having everybody in the same place at the same time. Taking one for the team. Sort of like how one of the Supreme Court justices always has to skip the State of the Union Address.

TTB headlined the same fest last year and were included in the initial Wanee lineup.

Show schedules for bands like the TTB are typically handled by a booking agent, with little input from the band. If there are restrictions based on other bookings, they will announce later.

When the DTB was booked for the "charity" show in Mamaroneck by vinsanity, none of the band members knew the "charity" was to raise money for artificial turf for ball fields in one of the wealthiest counties in the country, where they were raising money to skirt state spending caps.

If Derek did not back out of this, he certainly won't avoid Wanee.

I also overlooked the Jan. 16th date in Jacksonville 85 miles away. That conceivably could be within a geographic non-compete, so TTB could be announced for Wanee either after the Jax show or after it sells out.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised by either. 50/50 chance in my mind.

Ah yes, our little scamming scum bag vinsanity.

I wonder if he has his law degree yet.

Natural occupation for him.

vinsanity is one of my heroes.

We have kids currently at our high school trying to raise money for an indoor batting cage which is needed due to the way our local high school property drains water and other reasons (field scheduling, season starts in winter). It's a cause I'd support regardless if these kids had thought of raising money for a different cause at one time.

If these teenagers can pull off booking a cool band and then taking those profits from a concert at the school to meet their fundraising goal, I'll be super impressed (it would mostly be the local school supporting themselves since most of the tickets would likely be bought in the community). If they go on a message board for that band to advertise the show to ensure they sell all the tickets, they'd be wise. If old dudes there call them scumbags, it would be a shame. If they are doing it years later, it would be sad.
