Our planet, Earth and everything good in and about it;

rain, sunshine and the flowers and grasses that they produce - which in turn give us the oxygen we breath, the food that nourishes our bodies and even medicine that helps us through illnesses;

every blade of grass, every leaf on every tree, every hill, every mountain, every stream, every ocean and the vast variety of flora and fauna that we share this creation with;

peace, love, kindness and joy wherever they occur;

farmers, field workers, architects, carpenters, craftsmen, doctors, nurses, teachers and educators (including clergymen), first responders, sanitation workers ... how much bandwidth do we have?

for all who are mindful of others who struggle in life and make occasional gestures and acts of kindness towards these;

for all of the people who have touched my life in positive ways (for some, it's been a mixed bag!);

Music, art, literature - all of the creative types and entertainers that provide us with diversion when we need it;

that I got out of bed again today under my own power and that the breaths keep coming;

and rather cynically, I'm glad that world-wide things aren't any worse than they are.  Optimistically - happy knowing that we can all grow and make a better world.

Y'all!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to everybody - everywhere regardless of faith, nationality, color and creed!  Remember - we're all in this gravy boat together!

I am thankful for the United States of America. Perfect? No!! Has its ups and downs. But the best country in the world. Well it's the only one I've live in but that is what I've heard for decades.

Beautiful post, Rusty.  We are a grossly imperfect Nation.  But I still think that it's the greatest country on earth, and I am glad to have my small piece of the pie in El Paso.  And by the way, the medical care in this town is just superb, way beyond anything I imagined when I moved here in January 2022.  I'll turn 71 in one month and I need it.  Trump:  REINSTATE THE SUBSIDIES FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED AFFORDABLE CARE ACT PATIENTS.  It would be easy for me not to care, but I do.  I have Medicare, and it's just the BEST.  But I haven't forgotten how ACA saved my ass more than once when I was in my early 60's.  And food assistance programs need to be fully funded as well.  If you want to help in that regard, www.nokidhungry.org is a great place to start.
