Who was the voice that repeated "Purple Haze" at the end of the song? Was that Jimi? Didn't sound like him.

Maybe it's Chas Chandler , he really encouraged Jimi to finish writing the song once he heard the beginning .

Hiya Scott. Here's a great NPR article about the making of Purple Haze. Very insightful & informative. While it doesn't address your specific trivia question, it's a great read and does talk about what sounds like a mandolin at the end but is not. It's really a high pitch guitar recorded at half speed. Lots of other very cool trivia and info I never knew. Enjoy!

Also here's many more trivia facts for you about the song.
