Great Mule show last night over here in the Netherlands (De Boerderij (= The Farm), Zoetermeer).
Venue was sold out. I think it was the first time i went to the Mule at a sold out venue over here in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. But if remembered correctly other shows in Germany were sold out in the past too).

And one of the facts that i love going to Mule shows as much as possible is that although this was my 17nd Mule show they still played 7 songs i haven't see them play before. THAT diverse their setlists still are.

Highlights for me were: Kind of Bird, If Heartaches Were Nickels and the encore.
Saw a couple encores in the past during which they started of with "Come On Into My Kitchen" but then it usually was only partially played and segued into "Look On Yonder Wall". This time Warren
started of "Come On Into My Kitchen" solo and his playing on his electric guitar resembled an accoustic one and when the band joined in they continued the song. "Gonna Send You Back To Georgia" is an excellent choice to end the show on a high due to it's powerfull riff, sing-a-long segment and restarting the song again after it appears finished.

For an "unexpected" cover they chose "Hush". I like the song and it's great for a bit of audience participation but it's a cover commonly used by many bands in the past (Deep Purple, Kula Shaker and Dan Baird) so it wasn't a highlight for me. I kinda wished for either a 2 song Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd segment as a hat's off to the recent releases. But that's the Mule. Unpredictable as ever.

They got a very good but not ecstatic response from the crowd after the songs finished but most people on the floor near the stage were no "talkers" during the music which was pretty cool. The venue respected the Mule's taping policy because a few mics were clearly visible so stealth recordings were not necessary.

Thanks for the review!

I'd love to follow Gov't Mule on a European tour. Will you be catching anymore dates?

How many people did the venue hold?

Any sightings of the band digging the Netherlands?

Yeah, it would be good to be in Paris tonight!

"Attention, il n’y aura pas de première partie pour ce concert. Gov’t Mule sera sur scène dès 19h30 pour 3h de spectacle. "

No support act, on stage at 7.30 for a three-hour show.

Sounds good to me!

Well, maybe i'll try making it to the show in Cologne 12 days from now. But not sure i've i have the budget to do so. Prior to the Mule show i visited a 2 day Blues Festival last friday and saturday and i still need to buy tickets for 1 or 2 summer festivals. Once again: choices, choices!

The venue holds 750. I would roughly estimate 650-700 on the main floor and the rest on a small balcony.

No, no Mule sightings. I guess in places like this (which are not a household name like Amsterdam) it's getting on the tour bus and getting on route to the next gig. The night before the Mule played a 60 minute festival set and Warren joined Robben Ford on stage for two songs. If remembered correctly from what i heard from other fans over here the biggest chance running into a Mule member exploring local nightlife would be Matt.
