Been tossing around the idea for awhile about  getting one. I have played a few here and there over the years, but have never owned one. I always liked the feel of the neck, a little more chunkier, fits may hands better. For the most part they have mini humbuckers installed. I have always been a HB person whatever guitar I have played. Just looking for something different and curious if anyone has owned one or has opinions. Its been awhile since I sat down and played one, so I probably need to do that before any purchase is to be made. I have played both the Gib and Epi in the past and tonal wise I liked. The recent Epi version has sparked my interest. Also thinking about Epi LP Special

I had a Firebird for a year or so in the late 1960's. One of my heros, Eric Clapton, was playing one. I got it for $175.00. It had more of a stock Strat tone to me. Johnny Winter was playing one some back then too. Warren Haynes has 3 or 4 and likes them but he doesn't seem to play his much live.

You probably would like the Epiphone Les Paul better. Guy at the big music store here in my town told me recently Epiphone, Gibson's lower priced brand, has much better quality than Fender's Squire.
