Hope they play this at the Beck tribute show. Glad Derek Trucks is going to be there.

Eric Clapton, John McLaughlin, and Derek Trucks: giants. This is great. MAN, they had best record/film and release this.

DDid Derek ever play with Jeff?

@jimsheridan I found an Eric Clapton Crossroads festival which featured Jeff Beck and Derek Trucks but unfortunately no footage of them on stage together.

Derek and Susan are mentioned on this.

Sounds amazing and kudos to EC for organizing.

Can someone explain to me how Johnny Depp gets himself inserted alongside these giants?

After Johnny Depp finished his court battle with his X wife, he flew to London and sat in with Jeff Beck at several shows, apparently among the last shows Beck did before getting a serious infection which took his life.

Apparently Johnny Depp plays guitar.

Well this has been viewed 2.5 million times. Johnny plays rhythm guitar?

Scored an arena seat for monday's tribute show (05/22/23) through today's pre-sale. Fly back home the next day.

@abbdutchfan Fantastic. I bet it will be a fantastic show. All the players will be moved by their respect for Jeff Beck and likely will be playing at their best and from the heart. And that is when music really hits home!!

Maybe Steve Gadd will be on drums.

Remember the song "How Long" by Ace? The singer of that is on organ here. I've seen him live with Mike and the Mechanics and Eric Clapton and he is not only a good singer but a very good organ player.

Some Yardbirds, Stones, Traffic, Who, Faces in this one.

Question: has Clapton ever played Yardbirds' tunes post Yardbirds?  I can't recall ever hearing him play one.  Jeff Beck interview, I think linked up-thread, when asked about the Yardbirds Beck replied that Clapton hates the Yardbirds and won't play anything.  Got me wondering.

I saw Clapton play a Gibson Explorer in the late 1960's and an SG with Cream. A good number of Fender Strats and a Gibson ES-335. Several different acoustic guitars. And a Dobro.

@jimsheridan I saw a recent interview with Eric, and he said that they're recording it for archival purposes, but not for commercial release. The interview is on the Real Music Observer youtube page. Really good interview!! Felt like 2 friends talking, and not your normal interview.

In addition to what has been mentioned a;ready I would like to see them add:

Jimmy Page ( already mentioned)

The 2 girls from Loud Hailer

Jimmy Hall

Carmine Appice

Stevie Wonder

I am sure there are many more but these are off the top of my head.

Maybe Ronnie Wood. Jan Hammer. Simon Phillips. Tal Wilkenfeld.  Might be a bit raw for some of Beck's recent touring musicians, but hope they are included too.

Yea, especially the girl with the big hair. She made Jeff Beck look hip again. Plus she got her big break from the Allman Brothers.
