Just listened

1) Had no idea the extent to which Duane battled / battles with addiction to such hard, dark substances

2) Good on him for speaking so openly about it and leaning into this - sounds like other musicians and celebrities shy away from this podcast and I can understand why

3) My first time listening to this show --- cringey at times how much of a fan-boy the podcaster came across as. He also poked and prodded much more than a typical interviewer. Is that just his style and is there some sort of fellow addict code that gives him a green light to do this with guests? Honest question

4) Super super happy for Duane on where he's at and hearing this makes me appreciate him even more

I agree with the cringe factor....altho I think the approach is meant to keep it real and not sugarcoat it. There are famous folks who get into drugs and it becomes an Oprah interview saying, 'hey kid, don't do drugs." But those who have been in the shit, as I was myself back in the day, know what is real and if somebody is truly coming clean. Proud of Duane for keeping it real, and he kept it real about his Dad as well.

Some interesting parts for me was he had seen both sides of his Dad's personality, as I experienced and many others, and his appreciation of Dickey's positive side still rises up, and that is cool. Also - Dickey coaching his baseball team - who knew?? And at the end, when faced with the "This or That" questions, he picks one or the other in most instances, yet from deep in his heart, he refused to choose between Duane and Gregg, due to the deepest respect of both. Very cool.

The censoring and the interviewer are very annoying.  I'm glad Duane got it figured out.  I enjoy his music and I hope the best for him.

The host is annoying as hell. Ask your question, shut your mouth and let them answer. Dude can't stop talking.
