Band Of Gypsys Fillmore East 1970 Live Footage

I don't know where I've been but I never knew this existed until today. That YouTube auto-search engine REALLY is special sometimes. This is what I consider great quality considering it's 55 years old. Black and white, a bit grainy but not bad at all. But the audio is what really pulled me in, because it really is quite amazing. Someone obviously did a wonderful mastering job.......Eddie Kramer, maybe? All three instruments are crystal clear and the volume is very good as well. A 55 minute set.
I've never been a big fan of the Band Of Gypsys record, to me it pales in comparison to Jimi's studio records. But this video REALLY pulled me in because the playing, especially Jimi's playing of course, is just way off of the charts. I gotta say that this band with Buddy Miles (drums) and Billy Cox (bass) could definitely take it to places that the Experience never could. More of a free-form, jazzy style. If you've never seen it...........ENJOY!!
Pains me to think that Jimi only lived for nine more months after this show.

Jimi opened for the Monkeys where I lived then and it's about 1968 I think. Maybe 67.
It was L O U D!!!!!! and I'd never seen a whammy used like that. At the time I didn't know Jimi was playing a right handed guitar upside down and left handed.
Jimi has his own style and even today usually is number one in these best guitar polls.
Our beloved Duane Allman using is in 2nd place or top 5.
