Amy Helm's Skylark : A Night Of Songbirds

I caught the middle night of this 3 night tour @The City Winery in NY. Great night with the Ladies. Nice skills across the stage. Sweet mix of vocals. I love all things Helm and Amy compiled a nice group of ladies for a nice blend of music. Emily on keys was out of my view, but she had a nice voice and added a little to every song. Nicki Bluhm was new to me, ut I liked what I heard. All were great vocally really, Rachel, Shelley, Simi, & Amy all took the spotlight thru different tunes and shared the mic on The Weight & Dolly Parton's Jolene. Cyndi and Carolyn played some nice guitar throughout the night w/Jennifer & Allison providing the rhythm section. Here's a couple of the songs from the night.
To Rise You Gotta Fall
Let Me Be Your Girl

East Of Kearns
Misunderstood
Good Friend

I'm a fan of Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers. Daren Ney is a tasty guitarist.

Nicki's other Skylark tune.

All the Ladies were fun. Simi had a nice Soul/R&B feel, They all brought something to the table. I grabbed a few CD's at the show and had Carolyn's Live CD on for my trek into the city to see Shawn Colvin's show at the Winery last night, Smokin', Some nice throwback blues.
