Listening to this show on youtube:

Remember seeing the band with Jimmy on that tour. Amazing stuff.
Do you think they would ever put out a live CD from that tour?

I'm not a huge fan of Herring; while very respectful of his talents, he just doesn't do it for me like most every other ABB guitarist does.

That being said, this show is incredible. I've had a copy for 10+ years and still listen to it regularly.

I love that lineup… the set lists became so Gregg heavy and so JAM heavy. Amazing forum for an energized Derek and Jimmy to soar. Loved seeing Oteil as stage leader, too!

Lots of smiles on that tour! You could tell the brothers were enjoying themselves!

This was a big year for ABB. I think there was a lot of uncertainty as to how they'd perform without Dickey, and when Jimmy stepped in, it became obvious that they could not only carry on, but thrive. I was at the the Va. Beach show in June, Jimmy's first, I believe. Lots of anticipation in the crowd, and everyone flipped when the opened with Mountain Jam. Great night!

Always liked the poignant Mule tease at the beginning of Jessica.

The 2000 Raleigh show is one of my top ten all time ABB shows. The Charlotte show the night before was stellar, but the recording isn't as good as the Raleigh IMO. I remember going to the Charlotte show anticipating a miracle and they delivered. Jimmy was as incredible as I hoped. Although when it came to "Jessica", it seemed that it hit Jimmy he was replacing Dickey and I think it messed with him. But a great show overall. Then followed by the Raleigh and the next one in VA appears to be a good one as well.

We saw an awesome ABB concert on Aug 25, 2000 at the Madison Blues Festival in Madison, Wisconsin.
I was allowed to climb up on the elevated soundboard and set up all my recording gear and tape the show from up there all night. It was a very special evening and the highlight for me was Gregg belting out Somebody Loan Me A Dime. The interplay & jamming with Derek & Jimmy was outstanding and the weather was perfect. To bad that blues fest only lasted a few years in Madtown.
