I just discovered that Tony Glover passed away last May 29. He was 79.

He was best known for his time with Koerner, Ray, and Glover.

Tony played with Duane on occasion (including the Superball Fest July 24, 1971.)

He lived in St. Paul and I met him a few times. I gave him a bunch of live ABB shows with Duane, and he told me that the band was so loud the only way he could tell he was playing his harp was that he felt it vibrating on his lips. He also commented that he'd forgotten just how damn good Duane was.

I also chatted with his wife once and she told me that Duane and Tony hung out together on occasion.

He wrote the booklet that came with the first Duane anthology, way back when.

Thanks for sharing the sad news Bill - still have the booklet in my Anthology album, & Tony’s essay was not only the first, but to this day remains the very best writings of Duane, accompanying all the wonderful photography as it does - RIP Mr. Glover

You're welcome. Tony always seemed frail but tough.

You can find three of his articles at http://duaneallman.info/duanearticles.htm . Scroll downward, or if you can't wait, do a keyword search. There are a boatload of pieces to read. Great stuff!
