I'm actually a few months older than Duane. I remember I was polishing a brass doorknob when it came over the radio that he was gone. I remember the shock but don't think it came to me then that was the greatest musician I'll ever hear for the rest of my life.
There was a lady on a YouTube comments who said she was pushing eighty and had some nights where she still wept for Duane and wished she could have given him some of her years.
