Jason Isbell was great again. After Grand Rapids we went to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Now visiting Traverse City for the first time. Our hotel room looks out over one of the bays - just beautiful here.
Stayed a couple days at Traverse City, then on to South Haven. Stopped in St. Joseph on the way home. Then got hit by storms - a 1-1/2 hour drive home turned into 3 hours and 50 minutes. Rained so hard could barely see the road - interstate was 45 mph for a while. When we got back to Illinois I-80 was closed due to a power line down across the road. GPS kept re-routing us - traffic lights out, flooded viaducts, etc. Took forever - told my wife numerous times that I didn't think we were ever getting home. The trip was great except that last ride home. When we finally got home we had lost a large branch off of a big maple tree on our parkway and a small hydrangea tree in front of our house. A lot of damage in the suburbs around us.

Last weekend I was in Council Bluffs for the afternoon. Stopped and saw SlimZimm. It was really good to catch up with him. Healthy wise he's had a stretch of multiple years with some real health challenges. He was doing well that day after a recent procedure. He asked about the MTers and if I had any updated on them. He's looking at possibly attending a Joe Bonamassa/Gov't Mule concert in August. Thinking about that one too but not completely sure.

Hey Steve ... glad to hear Tom is doing okay despite all ... we had a fair bit of contact back in the trading days ... give him my best if you do meet up with him at the Bonamassa/Mule gig.
I must admit I would love to be at that one, I really enjoyed a gig in London when Joe sat in with the Mule ... I'm not convinced Mule will ever come to UK again as the last few gigs they did over here weren't that well attended ... possibly because they played three or four cities here ... I'm sure if they just played London it would sell out as folks would travel from those other cities.
Very sad news about Masahiko. May he rest in peace.

Was at a friend’s lake house just north of Offutt Air Force base earlier this week and the “Doomsday Jet” was practicing touch and go landings and takeoffs. That is one huge aircraft.

Getting tired of all these storms. 2 tornadoes have hit my town in the last 2 weeks. I have never seen so many trees and limbs down in the suburbs around us. It's cutting into my golf time - and I need to play more since I am going out to play Pebble Beach in a couple weeks ...
