My mother guilted us into a family trip to Navy Pier for Tall Ships this weekend.

Caught the Wheels of Soal Tour. It was good.
NMA is playing with a woman bass player with a really good voice.
Los Lobos was awesome. The highlight of the whole evening was Derek and the TTB horns sitting in on Mas y Mas (y mas y mas y mas . . ).

TTB was TTB. Good, but still makes you miss DTB.
Venue was a little odd, a chairs in the park sort of thing, but the sound was good.

I agree. As much as this topic has been beaten to death, I prefer both of them in their own bands with the occasional sit in. My favorite part of that weekend this past winter when we saw them was the night before when Leon Russell opened. It was tough to hear anything over Susan's voice.
