On 5/7/13 at 6:30 this morning our long time “disreptuable” friend, Rudolph ‘Juicy’ Carter died of heart failure following a long battle of declining health.

He passed at the Veterans Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

Mr. Carter played saxophone and was a musician by trade for some 50 years known by the nick name of “Juicy”.

He was a long time friend of the Allman Brothers Band, especially Jai Johnie Johnson.

Juicy & Jai had played in a number of bands together staring in 1968 when Percy Sledge hired Juicy at the request of Jai Johnie.

Within a week of joining the Sledge band, Juicy coined the name Jaimoe for his friend and band mate, which has stuck forever.

He played as a guest on the Allman Brothers Band seminal Fillmore East weekend in 1970 and was known to sit in with the Brothers on occasion.

Juicy was great person, a true friend and an excellent musician.

He will be missed by all that knew him.
