The Allman Brothers Band

Newsletter: Peach-o-Gram for December 13, 2005

Hey folks,

So how’s the holiday preparation coming along? Got those cards mailed, cookies baked, presents bought and wrapped…? Neither do we!! But it will happen… just like magic!

Speaking of magic, this holiday season is feeling very special, have you noticed? Lots more friends to visit, good music to share, and parties to attend. We would like to call all 37,000 of you and wish you the holiday best, but with our daughters’ cell phone charges I think we’re in enough trouble as it is! So please know that we wish you all the happiest of holidays, and hope that you get to spend special time with the people dearest to you.

We do have a couple of quick news items. We wrote to you a couple weeks back about the 2005 Instant Live Pre-sale. It’s still open, with 37 shows from 2005 available in tasty sound board / audience mixes. Visit

and imagine feeling the energy of those packed pavilions and theatres… imagine closing your eyes and getting lost in Gregg’s soulful vocals, the incredible jams of Warren, Derek and Oteil, and the amazing percussion of Butch, Jaimoe and Marc… think about all the shows you wanted to hear during the season but missed… and imagine having a second chance to not just hear them, but own the recordings and hear them whenever you want…

Well, you can! The pre-sale is on, but only for a limited time at:

OK, where did that all come from?! We wanted to tell you about the latest archive release, but every time we think about those 2005 shows we get carried away. Sorry, but it’s hard not to!

As you know, we’ve been gradually polishing and releasing classic shows from the ABB archives. We are proud to announce another release in this very selective line — the May 1, 1973 show at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. This concert featured the lineup from the Brothers and Sisters album with Lamar Williams and Chuck Leavell, and includes wonderful versions of “Jessica,” “Come and Go Blues,” “Ramblin’ Man,” and “Wasted Words,” plus a cool “Mountain Jam.” This would make a superb stocking stuffer for your soul mate or your ABB family friends. You can find it at

and if you move really fast it can be delivered in time for holiday gift giving.

And the final news item: The 2005 Peachies award voting is now closed. Thank you all for participating!! The “award show” will be held on December 15th, at 8:30PM EST, in the Anything Goes section of the forum. Best concerts, solos, venues, forum members, lifetime achievement awards — and many other categories will be awarded. Thanks again to Slammer and LinnieXX for their tireless work on this project for our family!

OK, back to procrastinating about sending out holiday cards and gifts… hmmm, looks like we have a lot of company! Let’s get it done, and then have fun! Until then,

Take care and know that you are loved,
Lana and Rowland
