As usual, Hittin’ the Note is happy to be on the road that goes on forever. Make sure to stop by their booth and say hello, renew your subscription, and meet up with old friends. Hittin’ the Note will have 2 free front-row center tickets to raffle away at almost every show for peachy peeps who sign up or renew subscriptions to their magazine, plus the always-popular “guess the opening song” contest, with HTN T-shirt prizes for the winners each night.

Speaking of front row center tickets, The Big House Foundation, in conjunction with the Allman Brothers Band, is holding an auction that allows you to bid on front-row tickets for most ABB concerts. The proceeds from the auction will be used to help establish the Allman Brothers Band Museum in Macon, Georgia. To participate, register and submit your bids for the show (or shows) of your choice at:

www.bighouseauction.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi?action=ShowPage&page=entrypage.html

If you enter the high bid, you win! It’s that easy, and your bid is completely tax deductible above the cost of the tickets, as the Big House Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 public charity. Your donation will go a long way in assisting the BHF achieve its goal – opening and maintaining the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House, which was the ABB’s home and communal hub in Macon from January, 1970 until early 1973.

To learn more about the Big House Foundation and the Allman Brothers Band Museum, please visit:

www.thebighousemuseum.org.

HTN will also be helping out the Big House Foundation with a raffle for a guitar signed by the Allman Brothers Band.

Munck Music, the fine company behind this year’s ABB Jazz Fest recording, is taking over doing “instant lives” of ABB shows this year. Be on the lookout for the Munck Mix Tent, where you can order a CD at the show and pick it up 30 minutes after the ABB leaves the stage. Hittin’ the Note will also have these shows available for shipping within two to three weeks after each performance and is accepting pre-orders now. To find out more details and to pre-order visit:

But wait, there’s more! HTN is proud to announce that the Allman Brothers Band 2007 Summer Tour Merch is now available via their web site! Check out every coolio new offering by visiting:

On an entirely different note, KFOX radio is holding another competition for the 4 finalists in the under 18 category (which of course includes Lane Four, and Gregory’s daughter Layla) from The Last Band Standing Contest of last fall. They are holding this additional voting round to choose two of the four finalists to play at Shoreline Amp. on Sept 22nd with The Doobie Bros, and The Steve Miller Band. Of course we are chomping at the bit for Lane Four to be choosen!

Lane Four has had an amazing year as a result of the contest and the Peach Corps’ support last fall. They have grown in leaps and bounds as a band. They have a website LaneFourBand.com as well as their myspace : www.myspace.com/lanefour

They have some new live tracks up you can hear. They also have a new publicity photo which you can find in the Media Gallery of GreggAllman.com under promo photos.

The only downside to this contest has been the fact that all of their rehearsal time has had to be spent on doing cover tunes. Originals are coming soon. Layla has a couple under her belt.

The bottom line is that starting Monday, July 23 those who want to can go to the KFOX web site and vote. To vote go to:

www.kfox.com/pages/summersendoff.html

The deadline for voting is August 3rd at 5:00pm pacific time. On behalf of Lane Four, thank you very, very much for your support!

Finally, our continued prayers and love to all those knowingly and unknowingly in need …

Take care and know that *you* are loved,

Lana and Rowland
