hello everyone... does anyone out there in the grand peach cosmos have any information about any good delis that specialize in good old fashioned new york pastrami in the beacon area? thanks for any help offered and have a peachy time at whatever show you may be attending...lana and rowland- good luck on this new journey and know that you are appreciated and loved
Evening all. Mega thanks to Nic who generously made copies of Rev. Tim's Duane tribute show - you made several peopel very happy and we appreciate it. Also loved the January Rev. Tim show with Duane singing Dimples - very tasty indeed. Anyway, am I the only peachette who has not received her Beacon (03/16) tickets yet? Feeling antsy for a show. Bought tickets for Mule for March 1 at the Vanderbilt, Plainview, NY, and Robert Randolph for March 30 at Irving Plaza, NYC. Need live music real bad. Oh - ABB duo - pretty funny stuff - loved the fungus part. Any Beacon tickets available for Friday, March 15? Thank you.
Hey Everyone! First off, Thankyou Bird for the package, what an awesome show! Second, how come my signature doesn't show up even though I've typed it in the box? Third, I finally have my burner installed! I would like to offer up my first B&P, 1-17-71 Pittsburgh. (Thanks to Mitch) I'll take the first Five. Tim (Totinthapeach)
Hey Gerald, thanks so much for the killer package 😀 you sent me. You have out done yourself again. You are the :cool:est!
Please tell me how to get set lists for GA&F, this past weekend in florida.
Hey Bum,in light of recent events that story is not unbelievable by any means!Matter of fact I was halfway through my nasty E-mail to Butch before someone told me it was a hoax!
Thanks for being a good sport Butch! Glad to see your sense of humor and appreciation of sarcasm are alive and well.
Great story Bum.........Brother David, I got your package today, many thanks. EAPFP
Bum, that was funny. Best laugh I've had in a while. Thanks.
Hey there....
saw this on Oteil's guest book and thought i'd post it here, considering the conversation last week....I'm just catching up, lots of work and lots of play (GA&F in FLA), and lots of art deco and seafood (yummm) and "friendly" conversations with rental car folks (and hi to the race track crowd).
anyway, from Oteil's GB:
"Hey everyone!
I haven't been able to get online for the last few days because I'm in the process of moving into a new house. Our new phone just got turned on about 5 minutes ago.
I was shocked to hear that everyone thought that I was getting fired from the band and I just want to let you know that it is NOT TRUE. I think that I would have heard SOMETHING about it! As someone else stated, I think that they would have probably got someone else to do the record if the were going to let me go. My room in New York is already booked for the Beacon shows so I know I'll be seeing you there.
If I were to be fired, (or quit for that matter) I would certainly let everyone know "from the horses mouth". I'm sorry that I wasn't able to get online sooner and ease people's minds but circumstances wouldn't allow. All I can say is that in the future, PLEASE do not believe everything you hear. And if I DON'T respond right away, then take that as a GOOD sign. I can't always be around to do rumor control.
Thanks for the support!

I mailed 12/16/81 out today to those five souls who felt brave enough for synthesizer solos on One Way Out and Southbound. There is help available...
Looking forward to hearing about summer dates for the duo! Some of you folks are too much! 😀
Paul Kaytes and I have seen GA&F a lot recently and always comment on how absolutely beautiful his guitar playing on "Multicolored Lady" is. The first time we heard it I wasn't familiar with the intro and said something to the effect of, "I don't know what he's playing, but it's one of the prettiest things I've ever heard."
Take care and know that you are loved,
Lana
Allman Duo...ROTFLMAO! I'm curious though...will they travel by bus or plane? 🙂
Glad you guys got a kick.
You know AllbluesBro, Gregg's guitar playing could actually be an interesting topic for discussion. While I've never been a huge fan of Gregg's strumming on Midnight Rider with the ABB, I seem to remember him playing a lot more and better guitar with GA&F. I haven't caught them in a couple of years, what do people who've seen them recently think? Is Gregg accomplished on Guitar and would folks like to hear (and or SEE, ladies?) him play it more or should he just stick to singing and the B3?
Spun one of last year's (3/20/01) Beacon shows a couple of times yesterday. I'd forgotten how awesome "Worried Down with the Blues" and "I've been loving you..." were. Anybody know if they're gonna be on the new CD?
Bum, that was the best laugh I've had this week , but it's only Tuesday! happiness...Libby
Bum,
LOL
I recently had a dream with the ABB playing on a porch in a rural southern town and Gregg was trying to teach the guitar player's there part's as the gig was starting. He ended up showing the guy how to play B3 and picked up the guitar and to everyone's amazment he was jammin with the best of them.
Could fiction one day be reality?
EAPFP
Bum, change is inevitable and like Joe Roy says, you don't have to like it to accept it. I will definately be there to hear the "new ABB" The road continues to unfurl... :eek:Thanks for the laugh!EAPFP
Oh Bird!!! you're killing me...the trailer church is a treasure! My ribs are hurting from laughing. I'm at work, I can't be laughing like that :-DSomeone might think I am enjoying myself!Lana, thanks for the invite to the Gin Mill...can't wait...BEACON!!!
Hey everyone. I'm surprised no one else noticed this. I got it off one of the newsgroups. Today is a sad day.
"P.R. Music News Wire: "More changes in store for Allmans".
In response to rumors circulating about possible line-up changes in the Allman Brothers Band it was announced today that the legendary group will become a duo. Citing personal and creative differences, founding members Gregg Allman and Butch Trucks have served the rest of the band six weeks notice. Questioned as he was leaving church this weekend, Allman said "After the Beacon run, they're all history". When asked what prompted the change Allman stated "Well I couldn't stand some of em, Butch couldn't stand the rest of em, and Jaimoe hasn't been able to stand any of us for years so we said what the heck, let's make a change". When asked who his choices for dismissal were, Allman replied "Haynes just had to go. I told him last year we were a God-fearin' band and that if he asked to play a Black Sabbath cover one more time he was through. Well, he kept pushing it and I'm a man of my word. As for Oteil, he's a fine bass player but last summer he came into my bus without shoes on and I swear that boy gave my dog a bad case of foot fungus! You know what antibiotics do to a dog's digestive track? Enough said." Reached in his office at Flying Frog Records, Butch Trucks was quoted as saying "I must admit that firing my nephew Derek was difficult but hey, business is business and family isn't business. When Derek told us he might have to miss a Beacon show or two to attend the birth of his child we knew he simply wasn't committed enough to be a long term member of the band. We thought about keeping Marc Quinones but the vibe hasn't been right since he got the offer to go on tour with Jennifer Lopez. I guess the thought of backing her up was really appealing to him and he asked us to reschedule some summer dates to accommodate but we refused. Since then our relationship has been extremely chilly." When asked how the fan base might react to such a drastic change, Trucks lamented "I'm sure to be cast as a Faustian figure in all this but hey, the rest of the band weren't exactly music business virgins when they signed on were they? Speaking of Faust, have your read the modern translation by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe? You really should."
It is expected that Allman will handle vocal, organ and guitar duties while Trucks will play bass and percussion simultaneously. The new ABB is currently scheduling a nine state summer tour in conjunction with the "Steve Kimock One Man Band" and the "Bob Weir Trio"."
Is nothing sacred?
