"The liberal/moral decay that pervades our society...will ultimately be the downfall of this nation, the writing is on the wall. Are we headed for another civil war ? Revolution ? Conservative vs. Liberal ? I believe it's coming and the terrorist are loving every minute of it. Divided we fall." Damn brother, I would hate to hear how you would have reacted if Bush had lost! Don't sugarcoat it, give it to me straight, I can take it 🙂

Before I post I too want to recognize TanDan for his brave and selfless acts! And high fives to everyone that does something no matter how big or small to make a positive impact on someone's life, what prompted me to write was how I spent my lunch today: I was substituting as lunch mom for the ex today at our daughter's school her name is Chloe and she is a 7 year old in the 1st grade-it's raining in Wilmington,DE so no outside recess-instead the teacher pops in a movie and leaves-I am suddenly in charge of 35 1st graders-I have done it before so the number of kids isn't as scary as it was the first time-anyway whenver I play lunch mom I just sit back and watch the kids interact, smile and have fun-it always makes me appreciate the simple things in life a little bit more-the joy that the kids get in a cold carton of chocolate milk,a PBJ with no crusts, a chocolate chip with extra chips or just a hug always amazes me! They also appreciate the little things you can do for them-So I tied a couple of shoes and taped the bottom of Jimmy's crayon box so they stopped falling out In these post-election days it's time to get back to enjoying the simpler, sweeter things in life-and I wish nothing but good health and good fortune to everyone on this site Take Care

I am not sure Bob wanted to say this since I agree, and am politically Bob's opposite, but yes, the long decline continues. The continued gloating is more depression for me here, but I ironically take refuge in great music that I have recently received from two guys on the the other side politically-Hemlock and Clay Pelland. I am glad I kept to my beliefs, and did not resort to nastiness, so I can continue to have great cyber friends from both parts of the political spectrum. Like the old saying goes, I dont know what to do, but keep on keeping on. So thanks Rob(Hemi) and Clay both for the music and saying nice things about me when all I did was be polite to two generous people! Hi BigMike-got your pkg and everything was great!!! Did mine arrive?

Rick, I'm with you. Last saw Gregg with GA&F on 12/31/02 in Atlanta at the Tab, after seeing his show ten years in a row. His winter tours had become a standard. He deserves his down time and there is always the Beacon run. You drive over and pick me up sounds nice. I'll pick the tunes and pay for the gas.

...and I guess I would like to state for the record while it is on my pea brain that I am very sad Gregg is not touring this year. Not being negative here, but now I wonder if he is going to tour solo at all. Sad, sad day for me to realize that possibility. RT

You don't know how happy I was to get that right. I was starting to worry about my memory at this early age! Thanks to good hearing I guess. WOW! Steppenwolf was really deep. I guess that's my new choice of music today. Thanx for the memories TanDan. 🙂

'Monster' is the name of that Steppenwolf song and the chorus is what that signature is. Once the religious, the hunted and weary Chasing the promise of freedom and hope Came to this country to build a new vision Far from the reaches of kingdom and pope Like good Christians, some would burn the witches Later some got slaves to gather riches But still from near and far to seek America They came by thousands to court the wild And she just patiently smiled and bore a child To be their spirit and guiding light And once the ties with the crown had been broken Westward in saddle and wagon it went And 'til the railroad linked ocean to ocean Many the lives which had come to an end While we bullied, stole and bought our a homeland We began the slaughter of the red man But still from near and far to seek America They came by thousands to court the wild And she just patiently smiled and bore a child To be their spirit and guiding light The blue and grey they stomped it They kicked it just like a dog And when the war was over They stuffed it just like a hog And though the past has it's share of injustice Kind was the spirit in many a way But it's protectors and friends have been sleeping Now it's a monster and will not obey America where are you now don't you love your sons and daughters?

How many of us recall this Steppenwolf song? The Ostrich We'll call you when you're six years old And drag you to the factory To train your brain for eighteen years With promise of security But then you're free And forty years you waste to chase the dollar sign So you may die in Florida At the pleasant age of sixty nine The water's getting hard to drink We've mangled up the country side The air will choke you when you breathe We're all committing suicide But it's alright It's progress folks keep pushin' till your body rots Will strip the earth of all it's green And then divide her into parking lots But there's nothing you and I can do You and I are only two What's right and wrong is hard to say Forget about it for today We'll stick our heads into the sand Just pretend that all is grand Then hope that everything turns out ok You're free to speak your mind my friend As long as you agree with me Don't criticize the father land Or those who shape your destiny 'Cause if you do You'll lose your job your mind and all the friends you knew We'll send out all our boys in blue They'll find a way to silence you But there's nothing you and I can do You and I are only two What's right and wrong is hard to say Forget about it for today We'll stick our heads into the sand Just pretend that all is grand Then hope that everything turns out ok

I bailed on the Democratic Party when Carter was elected and the party turned liberal. It has gotten worse. It has become the catch-all for minorities, the gay community, leftist anarchist, illegal aliens, and various liberal/anti conservative groups. That is a sad commentary for the nation as a whole in that it really divides the nation. It's a loss for all Americans that there is not a quality third party that is recognized by the media. Oh, but that would mean the media would have to share their biased, liberal slant with another party which would not fit their agenda. The American people should be upset about the propaganda and mind control fodder that is put in front of you every day slanted heavily to the liberal/moral decay that pervades our society. It will ultimately be the downfall of this nation, the writing is on the wall. I hope it is not in my lifetime. Our nation is becoming more and more polarized in it's recognized standard of living as percieved by each side. What is now "normal" would, say, 20 years ago, be unacceptable. Are we headed for another civil war ? Revolution ? Conservative vs. Liberal ? I believe it's coming and the terrorist are loving every minute of it. Divided we fall. God Bless America, we need it. spdb

...never let the spector of a lawsuit prevent you from doing whats right. Courts are very forgiving of Good Samaritan's . Step up to the plate and if possible provide some sort of relief. Provide a blanket, clear an airway, hold a dying child, make a cellphone call, direct traffic around the accident site. Anything is worth doing nothing and in areas of the country where Bird72 lives, tag-"you're it!" I get paid to do it and the standard that I am held to is unforgiving; but for you to do anything that will help, within your own protection, is what Real Heros are made of.

jtuna....My mailbox was so full of stuff I thought I was going to have to call homeland security! Thanks Charlie. I immediately put 'Slackjaw Jezebel' on and it was followed by "I think you know what I mean'. Great stuff. And the Bass ran one of my cats off but the other who is 100% deaf enjoyed the vibrations thru the floor. I don't know what to say about all the kind posts that I'm seeing since I vented yesterday. I had no idea that was going to happen and I promise I'll try and live up to the standard and high opinion that you have of me. But everybody's job is important and contributes to society. To me, a hero is that person that goes to work year after year at a dead-end job and provides for their family. I learned long ago that there is an awful lot to be learned from the guy digging a ditch. Putting kids thru college and food on the table, that's what he was doing and as happy as could be. Tony, your witness is powerful! Thanks for sharing that with everyone. I saw in a post my name next to yours in the same sentence and I have to say I am honored and humbled. I've been trying to get back on the GB and say something, but I find myself looking at the screen speechless reading all the responses. I read in the local paper that the second child, not 18 months old as I thought but 13-months old, is expected to make it. I want everyone to know that CPR was first started on one child and it was a police officer that was performing it. Stephanie, your packages (2) have been mailed.

Happy bday Pam! Date night last night with the wife.......went to see "Ray". Loved it! It covers his live up through the 60's (much like his book). The performances are amazing. Any music lover should see this. I was scared that they were going to sugarcoat the man that Ray is. They didn't. It's a good look at this genius. There are also a lot of characters from our family.....Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd, etc.... Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me!
