SEATTLE (Nov. 9) - Mount Rainier shook with a 3.2-magnitude earthquake, but scientists said Tuesday the quake was not related to recent rumblings at Mount St. Helens, its sister volcano 50 miles to the south. The quake appears to be related to recent rumbling's on the 'Hittin' the web' website. The quake was centered one mile below the surface of Rainier's crater, said Jim Franks of the Pacific Northwest Seismograph Network at the University of Washington. That one mile depth its important because it represents the only spot in these United States that Warren Haynes has not played a concert as a member of any band. Speculation is that a family of trolls is looking for a guitarist to join them on their 'Back To The Stone Age' tour. Recent elections have speeded up the trolls desire to tour. Sunday's quake occurred within a cluster of 17 to 18 shallow temblors over several hours. This time frame is thought to be how long the troll band listened to recent recordings of Mule shows sent to them by Jtuna via underground express. Scientists are watching for continuing earthquakes near the volcano's surface and a particular type of seismic activity that results from fluid moving through rocks. Those clues might signal an eruption. The scientists are reporting strange noises that some say sound amazingly like 'Slackjaw Jezabel'... Stay tuned to CNN for any further developments.

Regardless of next year, how cool would it be for these 7 current ABB guys to sneak into the studio next month to lay down an all 'covers' album with some Robert Johnson, Derek & Dominoes, Coltrane, The Band, Dr John, Muddy Waters, Van Morrison covers????

Oh no...not more rumors. 🙁 Okay lets all speculate one at a time here...Derek's out, Jack's in. No wait - Warren's out, Jimmy's in. Ummm, hold on here...They're both out and Dickey might be....oh well. The ABB might be the only band where they need an "official announcement" during they're time off that "there will be no changes in the lineup" for next year...Its like a damn sports team. Jeeez. Have a nice rumor filled day all.

BLD, yes they played Bad Little Doggie - 2nd I think. Also, from the new album, About 2 Rage, Mr. Man, SlackJaw, New World Blues. I was hoping to get 'wine and blood', but didn't. Temporary Saint is also a 'must get' and we got that one too!! Rumors? A while back Derek mentioned he would like to tour less b/c of the time away from his family (on some website I believe) and there were concerns about him leaving the ABB for those reasons. Aside from that..... Instant lives? Don't forget about Jack P in Knoxville!! 😎

Just a quick note to again reiterate that the folks here are "a great bunch" I got no less than 7 responses to my request for a CD that was liberated from my hotel room. Every single one of these beautiful people offered to replace that show gratis. At least one of those had strong pre election differences with me, but once again proved that music is a bridge, healer and life style we all share. I'm humbled to be considered a member of the ABB extended family.

Rumors? Hell, I don't know nuthin! I'm just an idjut. But at the Jam, several folks who seemed to have some inside track approached me saying things like, "I know something you don't know" regarding the band. Pretty damned infantile, if you ask me. I'm sure that something's in the works, but then they don't leak that classified stuff to folks like me.

I picked up a Skynyrd double feature DVD last night: Freebird the Movie (1976-77) and The Tribute Tour (1987). Freebird the Movie is just outstanding. I had seen parts of it on VH1 before. The California & Wales festivals had huge crowds that were incredibly enthusiastic about the 1976-1977 Skynryd. I didn't realize how many of the solos were Rossington and honestly how litte Collins solo'd back then (except on Freebird where he does 90% of the leads). What an on-fire band back then. The Tribute tour was a GREAT concert to see in person; not quite as good on video because it is hard to get past Johnny in for Ronnie, particularly after you just watch 90mins of RVZ singing. Artimus Pyle's drums also sound too polished/studio. Interesting, in 1987 Ed King takes the bulk of the solos. While the Tribute tour wasn't nearly what the 76-77 Skynyrd was, it was light years ahead of where they are today. It was cheesy in parts of the tribute & flag waving, but King & Rossington tour it up pretty darn good. The constant Charlie Daniels naration actually detracts from the thing. I would have rather heard more complete songs. Anyway, it was a 9.99 DVD so it was well worth it for the Freebird Movie alone. The Clapton Crossroads DVD may be my next purchase. Tim

Hello everyone! This is a very late and short review on the Mule show last Friday in Indy - suffice to say they seriously kicked arse! I tend to lower my expectations when bands pass thru Indy - we tend to be 'in between' bigger cities/better venues/etc...throw in the fact that the boys drove from Alabama to get here...I thought they may mail it in a bit. Boy, was I wrong! There were a little over 30 people in our group and we were all blown away. They started with Lola and never looked back. Setlist was VERY fresh and surprising - the band sounded great, although I thought Danny was turned down just a bit. (That may have been due to where I was standing?) The closed the 1st set with Patchwork Quilt - which I hadn't heard them do, I Shall Return (one I was hoping to hear) into Drift Away back into Return. Just GREAT! Then opened the 2nd set with Wild Horses - nice touch. Well before the show I said to Josh 'I know we won't get it but I'd love a BIG, FAT 32/20 Blues'. Well, the stars lined up and guess what the first encore was? Yep. A BIG, FAT 32/20 Blues. Final encore was Soulshine - a Mammoth Soulshine, I might add. As always they certainly left me wanting more. As much as I love the ABB I definitely would love to be able to see Mule more often - wow! But obviously he can't tour any more than he already does! Haynes/Farmer '08!! 😎

It seems that rumors tend to exist during idle times. Whether it is sports, politics or the ABB. When there isn't anything substantive to discuss, people try to make something to talk about. That aside, I am a big fan of facts. Fact 1 - There is no reason to suggest that there is any lineup change on the horizon. Nothing from band or the fine folks with direct and indirect band affiliation. Fact 2 - Where is info coming from? That in of tself should put the rumors to rest.

Well Rick, if you are in the know, and it is just a rumor and not official news, and we are all friends, why don't you just share what you know instead of teasing us and letting our minds think of the worse...? Ryan
