Actually, I posted the setlist on the forum and Jack kindly posted it here. As mentioned, it was a great night and a really hard rocking set. The band just ripped it for almost 3 hours straight. This one show will keep me going until next March. Peace.

Thanks for posting the Red Rocks Set List Smiling Jack, Wow....what a show. Even those I have never heard Egypt, Dreams to Rembember or In To The Mystic I'm sure they kick you know what. In addition, I've never heard No One Left To Run With, Dreams or Mountain Jam in concert by the Bro's. But, hey that's why we keep coming back for more.......right! Magi

Jack...they can take that exact setlist and drop it right into Atlanta, boss. Jumped on the moe. listserv today (hosted at the same netspace.org as the ABB's). Put out the "newbie wants to know where to start" thread and getting some interesting suggestions back. moe are on the the live music archive so infinite amount to download. Got some studio suggestions too. I'll give you my read after soaking some in... Those in the know, throw a suggestion this way. Looking forward to taking in their set in Atlanta week from Saturday. Good seats have opened up on ticketmaster.com. Tim

copied from ChrisJunda on the forum: Red Rocks setlist Setlist: Jessica Statesboro Blues Ain't Wastin Time Rockin Horse One Way Out No One to Run With Egypt Dreams to Remember Wasted Words Midnight Rider Dreams Into the Mystic Mountain Jam Whipping Post (encore) I have seen a lot of ABB shows since 1969 including almost every show they have ever done Colorado and lots of Beacon shows and this one was one of the best. An awesome display by a great band. Played about 2:45 straight through without a break. It was pretty intense.

Just a brief report as to yesterday's semifinal at the Thelonius Monk Int'l Jazz Guitar Competition. Miss Enigmajean and I sat next to last row, dead center (Baird Aud.- @ the Mus. of Natural History - 500 seats, all good) when four rows down sits L-R: Bill Frissell*, Pat Martino, Russel Malone,Stanley Jordan, Earl Klugh, and John Pizzarelli. That sight was worth the trip. For the next three plus hours we were treated to 10 young players who were each great in their own way. I wouldn't have wanted to be a judge - I agreed strongly with one of the finalists, the other two I would have chosen others, but that was more personal style than their playing. The judges seemed to be a bit more into the ECM style, i would have chosen a couple of guys who had more wes/blues in their playing. The backup band for the competitors was bill james piano ("taxi" theme), chris potter sax, terri lynne carrington drums, and john genus (sat night live band) bass. Intro given by theonius monk jr. and hosted by billy dee williams. Tonight we'll be attending the finals at the Kennedy Center, where the three finalists (Lage Lund, Norway - i'll be rooting for him, but the other are great as well, David Mooney, Louisiana, USA, and Miles Okazaki, Washington, USA., will perform, followed by a performance by the composition winner Junko Moriya - she's from japan, then the judges will perform backed byan all-star band led by Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. . Finally an award will be presented to George Benson. we talk a lot here about who can play guitar, who's better than who, etc., but i'll just say jazz is america's classical music and these cats straight bring it. i feel very lucky to able to absorb this stuff. *ABB connection: derek trucks band has a song called "frissell"

I'm sorry we didn't stop at the hotel yesterday and meet more people like Billy etc., but we were anxious to get as good an area-we had about 20 some odd folks by showtime so we needed an area-as possible. Red Rocks magic prevailed-an almost full moon peaking over the rocks behind the stage to start the show and continuing overhead. Great temperature and a lot of friends. Who could ask for more. I was having a harder time after the show making it back up to the top than Bird, who kept me company. I am so glad his trip worked out after last year's Montana storm show. I was also glad when Jim Benjamin and his wife Jennifer moved down with us at the start of the Brothers. Jim took up from where Steve/oldcoot left off last year, and brought burned copies of shows to hand out. I got an early Derek dvd that I have not watched yet. Summer can end here now, I got my Allman Brothers at Red Rocks fix!

Excellent show at Red Rocks last night. Many thanks to Smilin' Jack and the lovely Phyllis Quinn for putting me up and putting up with me... Great seeing all the friends epecially Tony (the Bird). Opened with a wiched 20 minute Jessica (Derek Lead then Lead Slide, Warren Lead). Then right into Statesboro Blues (Warren played Lead Slide with standard tuning, Derek Lead). Love the way Warren and Derek mix and match. You never know who will play what. Both played Slide on Ain't Wastin Time No More. Interesting set list, all songs were from early years with the exception of Rockin Hourse and the Instrumental (was tha Egypt - sorry, was still jet lagged). Great Mountain Jam and Whipping Post encore wrapped up an excellent night. The whole band looked and sounded great. Warren looks good, looks like he took off a few pounds. His voice is so good, really powerful last night. Derek was off the charts. Really powerful and seemed to be putting on a little technical clinic. Oteil was relentless all night. Really opened Whipping Post with a bang. Greg looked and sounded great. Looks like he is sticking with his new routine. The drummers, what can you say about the best in Rock and Roll. Excellent. Butch really is a freigh train. Nice work during Moutain Jam on the 3-way drum solo. Butch and Marc left the stage for I've got Dreams. Just a great night. Big Mike

As a friend from backstage told me last night at Red Rocks, Derek and Warren switched positions due to Derek not using ear monitors and whom was having problems hearing Oteil's bass. Warren uses the monitors, hence the amicable switch. Superb show as always at Red Rocks last night...:-)
