TanDan - Timeless, boy for me there is a lot of music that brings back part of my life. Nobody comes even close to the Bro's 'cause they have been a constant throughout. There is not any period of my life that I can't equate an ABB song to but there are lots of others for me. Led Zep 1 and 2 Hendrix Experience and B of G white album Deja Vu I’ve got a special place in my heart for one group of albums ABB 1st Jethro Tull Stand up Steve Miller Band It’s your saving grace Quicksilver – Shady Grove The only four 8 tracks I had, living in an avocado orchard on Kauai in 1970. No electricity, no water. We powered the tape with a car battery. I lived off the land and moon lighted once in a while when I desperately needed some cash. Surfed my butt off and spend the little money I had on the best weed on earth. God the simple life is long gone. I replaced it with kids, mortgage, job, stress, etc. I’m crazy enough to call myself successful. Sorry I’m ranting aimlessly. Back to work

For your information Randy I've just finished the yard, but I've got to trim this holly bush that is gargantuan.

Brofan, Windy & Sang on one page. Wow! It must be getting close to the Chi-town show. "And after sitting in front of the current Allman Brothers Band for many shows with the current lineup, so much else becomes somewhat empty". - Isn't that the truth.

Aw, go mow the yard! 😀 Seriously, though...I was a big Felix Cavaleri fan, loved the way the Rascals used the B-3 too. But it never goes in my player or on my turntable anymore--matter of fact, just gave away a double cassette couple weeks ago to a young B-3 player. Knew I wouldn't be listening any more, haven't for a while now. When I listen to music, especially the last few years, I get totally consumed in it. Thus I don't listen to the radio, and only listen to any music when I'm out on the open road or at home. And after sitting in front of the current Allman Brothers Band for many shows with the current lineup, so much else becomes somewhat empty. I guess it's like a kid that truly loves burgers and fries. Once you go to filet mignon, even the best burgers and fries don't really satisfy. Or like learning to ride a bike, then getting a convertible. Or like kissing.... EAPFP:winky:

Buppalo1 The Rascals! Trivial? I think not. Felix Cavalere was and I presume still is a heck of a singer. Him and the Righteous Brothers were whom the phrase "blue-eyed soul" was coined. Although I bet Felix's eyes aren't blue. The Grass Roots, Grand Funk and hundreds of other whenI hear a particular song by them, I'm immediately transported back to a time/friends/girl. Same thing with the Allmans except ... they've managed to add alot of new memories since 69-73. Although they kind of went lost in the 80's. I know I did. They recently added a new memory; however, I'm more fond of alot of their others. Of course I'm not always on either. As a matter of fact it's been a whild since I've been on top of my game. Lol!

Brent yeah I agree. There are certain phrases that Dickey plays that only he can play and they really sing to you. Love Mr. Toy Caldwell and BB. Oh yeah should we add Bluedad to this list? I'll let ya'll debate this. I'll watch from the sidelines. LOL

EZM, it's been on the local news and in the newspaper here. Mr. Furguson and his band played 14 times in our little town, exposed many a factory worker and their family to a new musical concept.

I just read where trumpeter Maynard Ferguson has died. I and many members of our HS jazz band worshipped Maynard and his "little big band" back in the mid-to-late '70s. We hounded our band director to get the charts to Maynard's version of "Chameleon" and a few others. A bunch of us went to see them a few times. Another piece of my youth has passed on. R.I.P. Maynard Ferguson.

Linnie, Funny you should mention "Crown"...one of favs too.....I was just looking for mine this week, unfortunatley, someone disappeared my CD's of both "Crown" & "Volunteers"....been looking for them.... I listened to 9/14/70 FE and 10/26/68 instead....but it wasn't the same.... :smokinsmiley::smokinsmiley: TD - 5/1/73 - 100% agreed......i think of this release as kind of a gift from the band....because I was there......means something really special to me....:smoke::dance::smokinsmiley:

The other day I was at the pc and put the Nassau Coliseum 5/1/73 disc on. I wanted to hear side 2. I let it play until it got to Les Brers and it was as if I had picked up a brand new CD!! I'm pulling Jaimoe amd Butch out and concentrating on just their parts and I'm hearing all of these little moments as the B3 and bass just start to swirl like some dervish and I am once again captured. Thanks to the band for allowing this show to be released! To anybody reading this that has this show, just go plop it in the machine and we could have a coast to coast Les Brers moment. 🙂 I'm tickled when somebody asks me why I have so many versions of the same song... We all know that the band never plays the same song the 'same way'. That only explains half of it---we choose at any listening moment which path to take...do we rumble with the bass , soar with the Leslie, fly with the slide or just jump from drum kit to drum kit? It is never passive , this listening to The Brothers!!
