:fanfare: :clapping: Billy & Kay! :fanfare: :clapping: God bless you both.Keeping Kay in our continued prayers. Glad u both had a great show night out to help celebrate 🙂
Nic-y..I didnt realize you were still undergoing chemo..Keeping you and NcFamily in our prayers..How's that darling Grandgirl and Scott doing? Such a fine young man, no one deserves the heartache he has been dealt.
You get better, Ya hear?
We r working on renovating the old McHomestead....The children's bath is complete enough to use :reddancer: and we have plenty of room and privacy..U know our doors r always open to you and Pam..
Shoot, after hurricane season, you can take Soulshine down the ol Misses-sip to our back door 🙂
Deb, check in please! reports r in , rain and floods were bad on FLA's SE Coast.
the only real suffering here was increased humidity, as if it's not humid enough.
Prayers for everyone in Issac's path..may Issac be more an inconvenience than anything else, better yet, an excuse to party.
Lefty, what a GREAT review..thanks you so much for sharing, in my minds eyes and ears, I was so there..
I can honestly say we have never experienced anything but stellar BB shows..tho 3 or 4 stand out to top all others..
Heather's last birthday in Memphis, at BB's club on Beale Street, when BB turned to us at the stage-side table we were blessed to be seated at...wanting to "talk about love" and so much more..... then "Happy Birthday Heather Darling"..Heddy was in her glory.
I love BB King, his hard work ethic, his will to overcome all obstacles from an earyl age on..his big heart, his brilliant talent..What a man!
the night , years later, at Bethune University in Daytona Beach, when Floyd opened for BB..oh, what a night..
Floyd rocked that house so hard, even ol BB had a time catching up..
one New Year's in Tampa..omg..BB was knocking down the Bud's like nobody's business, played like big business.
The Man was on fire that New Year's, perhaps the best we'd seen him play, he was unreal that night.. It wasnt that many New Year's ago.
Ill never forget a story BB told at a show he played at BB Mann in Ft Myers, FLA...BB is as wonderful a story-teller as he is songwriter...
He talked about being a young man, going to town at the fair.
He said he was at the age when a boy turns to man, starts feeling bulletproof.
When he came across a "white's only" (how dispicable, i cant truly fathom) drinking fountain, he didnt take but minute to look around, overcome by curiosity, surely this fountain must be bubbling over with cherry wine..
and then he took his first sip....water.
Water! He couldnt believe it, what the hell was so special about water that they needed a "white's only " sign 🙁
Recordings of BB's storytelling, his verbal autobiography, should be played at taught to every school child in America.imho.
Happy Anniversary to Billy and Kay....:)
Glad to know Kay is doing fine.....
Sorry we missed you Billy..
our prayers for you and Kay
Thanks to Rusty and Donna for the company and the ride !!
as for the show, well, it is in my top 5 all time.
Our mindset going in was, pay respect to BB..we had heard how tough his shows had been but he more than exceeded my greatest expectation.
I continue to be amazed at how one note from that mans soul can slay me..:)
As for Tedeschi Trucks, well, i must say this tops any show i have seen in the last 5 years , with the one exception being the Atlanta Chastain shows of 2008.
massive talent everywhere on stage, and it appeared to me that all band members were into what they are doing and who they are doing it with..
Susan's voice was an instrument and she commanded it..
AWESOME to see them KILL Get What You Deserve with Mike out front..
Kofi played some amazing things and Derek was a fireball of guitar form the opening notes of Everybody's talking..
with love to all, in my book I am witnessing the passing of the torch.
And i can assure you it is in good hands..
As good as the live disc is, it does not do them justice at this point..
they have gotten that much better..
killer vocals all the way around, killer horns, guitar and drums, and oh yeah, OTEIL !!!!!
this is fun to watch..
if you are on the fence, get off it...go see them..
you will come away with a smile..
Oops!
Happy anniversary Billy and Kay! Two finer people do not exist.
Kay - you're in Donna's and my prayers and thoughts!
Damn, Billy! I am CRUSHED that we didn't get to speak! Seems like we failed to connect the last time we attended the same show?
Best B.B. King performance that I have seen in years! At least 400% better than his show at the Alabama Theatre ... 18 months ago(?). There were a couple of "senior" moments, but the man is entitled!
To anybody planning to arrive at a BB/TTB show fashionably late, I strongly recommend being punctual for the King of the Blues!
TTB - these guys are not only our future - they're our present! If you're one of those folks who just don't believe that quality music is being played on stage by super-bad players, you need to see this band! There is no weak link in this chain!
Awesome, incredible, fantastic show in Tuscaloosa!
Praying for all in Issacs path. Please miss Peterman.
A great night in T-Town last night. I did not have the front row seats that Rusty and Donna had but Derek wore it out. Sorry I missed ya'll Rusty but saw ya.
After a nice opening by B. B King, Tedeschi Trucks put on a fine show.
Nice sized crowd and good responce to the music.
This was Kay's first gig since she has had cancer and she loved seeing and hearing Susan.
30 year Wedding Andv for us. Anybody who could stay married to me for 30 years deserves to see and hear Derek, Susan, Oteil, Kofi and the rest of the band.
A great night of music.
Peace out and stay safe.
I want to send a thank you to all the fine folks at the Peach Festival who signed the card sent to me. I am humbled by your act of Kindness. You all have touched my Soul and given me a warm feeling within my Heart. Thanks so much to all involved!!!!!! We Love you all!!!!
We will not be able to make the Kure Beach NC show with Gregg and Friends and Jaimoes Jassz Band due to my upcoming chemo schedule. The same goes for the Jaimoe show at the HOB in Chicago. We really want to get out and see Jaimoe's Band so we will have to work on that.
We did not go through Cadillac but we drove by on I-75 Carol. We had so much fun in Michigan for our short visit. We had a nice ride up the ski lift at Boyne Mountain. 😎
I hope all within the path of the Hurricane seek shelter and suffer no damage!!! I will Pray for you all.
Pam and I are constantly reminded of all the wonderfull Friendships we have made because of the internet home Lana and Roland provide for us. You all are a geat bunch!!!! Peach.
All is well here so far. Overnight and tomorrow up to 10" of rain. Ca, you and Kev be safe. For everyone in the Panhandle......Godspeed.........we are praying for you.
It was a erry, strange day today....with the storm. Then I heard Neil Armstrong passed away. 1969 came flooding back....the first time I saw the ABB, Woodstock and seeing the first man walk on the moon!!!
How blessed I am to be part of a very important time in this country's life!!! One of my co-workers, a lawyer, came to work Friday with a very colorful button down shirt with Jimi Hendrix plastered all over it. I looked at him and we started talking about the music.....half the people at work had no idea who Jimi Hendirx was!!!!!
peace asnd love.............prayers for all of us!!
Good luck Mitzi. Hope everything goes well.
 Mitzi..love and prayers for your little pretty girl....may the    watch over all of you. xoxox
Big Dave..thank God!
Deb, it looks like the storm has taken a swing toward the panhandle..Prayers for anyone in the path of the storm..
We simply do not have the technology to predict with precise accuracy the path or even the intensity, so we all need to be prepared to evacuate should the call be made.
if not for Judi, we were riding out Charley (BIG mistake!)
Ill never forget turning that last corner home, after driving by total destruction..
The little :cowboy: town of Arcadia ( up river) was torn up bad..ancient Florida Live Oaks lying flat on the ground, huge roots ripped from the gorund leaving crater-like holes..
Wild-eyed horses terrified running into eachother head on and /or huge tree trunks that had somehow managed to be spared, falling over themselves legs flailing in the air..a sight I pray I never see again.
The evacuation center that we had passed moments earlier, flat out gone.
The country folks do survive, not a single human life was lost there.
Punta Gorda was another story.
When we turned that last corner, and saw our house in the Mangroves where Charley plummeted thru , (our Mangrove Forest is still flattened out for the most part ) the house still standing in beam of a golden ray of FLA sunshine...we were blessed to be spared.
Neighbors were being airlifted out (heart atracks plus more serious injuires..).
Closer to town, in an upper story of a Harbor-side condo, a man refused to leave his antiques, was impaled to death into the drywall by a shard of window glass.
a Father & Son in East Punta Gorda, did everything together, including going to meet their maker, the fumes of their generator got to them.
An elderly couple was crushed to death under the weight of their tiny home's roof, their handicapped son hurricane force wind lifted thru the gaping hole, crashed landed thru a neighboring roof to land on a pile of dirty laundry and survive.
So bad...sewage and the freakin chemicals that fools are addicted to, vital to their worthless crops of lawns , mixed with dead wildlife , boiling in a potent brew of poison. oy
We really need to clean up our acts , go back to the old ways , before the big chemical industry ruled to roost.imho
Nic-y, did you drive right through Cadillac where Heather was born ?
Petrosky is even further North than where we lived, and we lived North. Pet bears on chains in backyards making me sad.
Deb, if you want to hurricane party with the McFamily Saturday...
Got good tunes :)Try to get here.
We'll feel like we 're on vacation :reddancer:
Just have to check in to say that i'm listening to the 2 peach fest shows at work to take the edge off another crazy NYC morning and I have to agree that it's the best live ABB recordings I've heard since the 2009 beacon run. Gregg being healthier or at least his voice sounding better is the x factor that puts the band over the top. The band can carry him when needed but they are just so on point when he's firing on all cylinders.
Prayers to all in need and to those of you who may be in hurricane's path - may it sail right over you and leave you alone!!!
Happy Friday to this fine extended family 🙂
😎
Bupp...thanks...pray for Carol...looks like they are going to get the bront of the storm. We are supposed to get tropical force winds and a lot of rain.....pray Ca & Kevin will be safe.
Dave....glad you are feeling better.
Looks like I am going to Tucker for 3 days...depending on the storm...who knows what the future will bring. Looking forward to a change of scenery for a few days.
Wish I could make GABBA..not this year..company does not anyone taking time off at the end of the month. Sad to have to life your life around a job.....but we all have to survive. Wish it was the old days when we worked for Mom & Pop's...people who cared.....now it's all about corporate!
Prayers for Donna, Pam,Nic, Dave and all of this very special family.
Peace and love
Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support. Jolie's next appointment is September 6 with an MRI in October. Love y'all!

Hey Brother Dave! Good to see you. How are you? Give my love to Pam.
Mitch
Carol, Deb....y'all keep an eye on this storm. I know y'all are used to dealing with this, but it makes the rest of us uneasy till we know y'all are good. Batten 'em down.
Hey Brother Dave!!! Glad you are feeling better BDOB!!! Hope you enjoy the trip to Ga Debbie. We are in Petrosky Mi Carol. We drove along the Little Traverse Bay yesterday toward Harbor Springs. This is beautiful country up here. Leaving tomorrow for home which is about 7 hours. We are having a Goodtime!!! Peach.
