I was a freshman at Converse College, Spartanburg, SC. Two of us went home with a classmate from Durham that weekend. We did not have tickets but somehow got in…right by the stage. We stood on the steps leading up to the stage as the band came on and off. A nice person in the front row passed a bottle of wine down the line and we all shared. Being from KY, I had never heard of the Allman Brothers before, but my story is a hit with people now!
I was there and shot color film. This was one of the last concerts to feature Berry Oakley. I will have prints for sale soon. Normally I sell on Ebay.
Basil?
Anyone who was there have any memories to share about this show? It seems like I remember a guy named Basil? was there or at the Greenville show the next day or both . . .
