Hey Bob!! ... great to "see" you ...
I miss the ABB and Beacon trips so bad ...
I wish I could get over for a Dickey show but cannot justify the $1000 plus cost of such a trip now that I am retired ...
If any of you have the chance to go to a show don't hesitate ... I know $150 might be a big outlay for a gig ... but how many more will there be?
Peace and love to you all ...

I'll drink to that, Peg .....
Afternoon Ed ... Roxy Music at the BBC playing away here ...
Have a great weekend, y'all ...
Hi Colin, Barb is gonna be in London this week putting the UK regulators minds at ease.
Then she will be back at the beginning of June with Dan for a few days.
All of us will be back early August for a London, Dublin, Edenbourgh visit. At the moment I don't have any plans to go to London until later in the year when Devon Allman and Duane Betts hit town ... but equally I don't yet have any plans for August so keep me posted ... do you have any gigs planned during your visit, Ed?
Haven't thought about that yet Colin, but being with Dan might give us a reason to search a few out.

Hey Bobby! Hope you're doing well.

Hey Peg!
Hey Colin!
Hope you both are well.
Wish I lived in central FL. Dickey tix are only $60 down there...

Outdoor track season is upon us and so far Grace has set an individual High Jump record and a Team Relay High Jump record. Can only get better as the weather warms up.

Good to see that Grace is doing so great Ed ... you must be one proud Daddy as all of your kids seem to be doing very well for themselves ...
With regards to Steppenwolf ... I saw them over here in the UK in (I think) 1972 ... I remember enjoying the concert but don't have any of their albums ... Easy Rider made their name for them over here and sadly "Born to be Wild" (not surprisingly) is the only track of theirs that I can bring to mind ... does the album still stand the test of time?

Hello Lounge!
Absolutely the oddest concert pairing I ever saw was Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds opening for Steppenwolf in either '70 or '71 (I could check the ticket stub, still have it). H, JF & R was Top 40 popish music while Steppenwolf got radio play, they were anything but that. Both groups were on the same label and it wasn't unusual for record companies to have label mates tour together.
Pretty sure 99.9% of the crowd was there to see Steppenwolf.

For me, the first couple albums are solid. Gritty rock and blues with the overplayed 'Born to be Wild' and 'Magic Carpet Ride on the first two albums.

Ed, your signature picture isn't there. It's a big notice saying something about 3rd party at Photobucket.

Photobucket changed their policies about third party hosting once they got hugely popular.

Oh, OK. Thanks for clearing that up, Ron. You rebel, you! Good to see ya!

Thanks.

Heh heh.
Finished the weekend with the Devon Allman Project in a former church, 450 capacity.
Sold out show, same venue we saw one of Butch's last shows.
Also got a couple pics of me from the Devon show.
I'm row 2, red shirt, black hat.
Picture 4 I'm taking a photo.
Picture 5, just digging it all.

Morning All
All but Dan will be on site today for a family visit. Lauren and Kenny in from Kansas. Gonna hit up Asbury Park later for lunch.
Bonzai Rance Progressive on the Turntable.
Picked up a pair of early 70s Danyco a-50 speakers from a neighbor looking to unload them cheap. Amazing speakers(Danish Manufacturer) that need a clean up and new burlap grill cover. But boy are they power hogs.

Good old Sunday morning

Thanks.
