Good morning, everyone!

Wonderful news, Ron! Hope it works out for you and Jeanne, too!

Lots of changes at work with the new officers (they change every 3 to 5 years). They're even moving me to an office closer to them. Yuk! I love my big office. Oh well. We find out this week who or what is getting cut. Scary!

A warm winter so far and I'm not complaining!

Masahiko, check your messages.

Have a great week, y'all!

Today's marches were much more in tune with this country's feelings than yesterday's farce of a sideshow.

Loved the bizarre presser by trump's stooge trying to claim the attendance estimates were wrong.

trump couldn't draw flies compared to Obama.

http://nymag.com/selectall/2017/01/donald-trumps-twitter-photo-is-from-obamas-inauguration.html

Even his twitter page was stolen from Obama's inauguration.

Clueless.

Me doing a photobomb (before I even knew what one was) to the right of my friend Giovanni with Butch Trucks at a pre-show party in NYC in 2006.

The following year, I can’t remember why, but the ABB had delayed announcing the Beacon 2007 show dates. So I posted on the Allman Brothers web site that I was intending to take my younger son over to NYC for a 21st birthday present and each day they delayed the announcement the cost of the flights were going up and up. Later that day I got a private message from Butch telling me what the dates were so I could book flights and hotel - but he swore me to secrecy as they were not going to be officially announced for another couple of weeks.

Such a completely unexpected gesture made me, an ordinary fan, feel so much appreciated. RIP Brother – the blues are certainly going to miss your rhythm.

Last Friday I went to a small (300 seat) local theatre for an acoustic blues evening by Paul Jones and Dave Kelly. These are the two guys who formed the "Blues Band" back in 1979 having previously been with Manfred Mann and John Lee Hooker Band respectively.

I have to say it was a very enjoyable evening with Kelly on Acoustic Guitar and Jones on Harmonica playing a two hour show of traditional blues songs that Duane and Gregg would have enjoyed back in the day.

I wore a Duane Allman "T" shirt to the show and during the interval at the merchandise stand Dave Kelly spotted me, pointed at the shirt and said softly "Duane - I loved that guy".

In the second half of the show, Kelly mentioned that he had met a "gentleman" during the interval with a Duane Allman shirt on and talked for a couple of minutes about what Duane and the Allman Brothers had done, they then went on to play "Statesboro Blues" ... made my evening ... Cool

This is so cool, Colin! Cool

I wore black last Friday. I was in mourning. I turned the TV off at 11:55. I couldn't bear to watch.

Miss Kitty Widgeon!!!! Thank you for coming out of hiding on a day we all needed some comfort. I'm in shock and tremendously sad about Butch. But it's so good to see you. Sorry to hear your back is giving you trouble. I suffer, too, immensely, with severe arthritis, so I can empathize. Don't be such a stranger. We love and miss you! Grin

I can't believe it's true! My girlfriend called and told me the news.

I've been listening to the ABB since 1970 when I was 12 years old. My first big concert was the ABB at the New Haven Coliseum in 1975 with Muddy Waters opening.

Thanks to everyone here who freely shared the music. When I listen to all my shows I often think of my peach head friends from this site.

Colin, what a great story! I think that pre-show party is where I met you. I remember that party like it was yesterday.

God bless Butch and may God bless all of you.

g'day loungers Cool not so happy Australia Day here to-day.. so sad and shocked. but also feel privileged to have made my way to the Beacon in 2011 to see the band live after 40 years of listening to them on vinyl and CD. So grateful for the music. RIP Butch.

KITTY!!!

So many old names have resurfaced in Butch's thread.

Very sad that this is what it took for that to happen.

I'm just numb.

Butch regularly responded to my facebook posts, it was such fun interacting with him about politics.

I will miss him for many reasons.

Kitty, give me a call sometime, my number hasn't changed.

I have chatted with both Jaimoe and Oteil at various pre-show and post show parties / gigs in NYC ... and I have chatted with both Warren and Derek on numerous occasions both in NYC and in London ... all of those guys are very fan friendly ... but Butch was the only one who would interact with the fans both on this web site and on fb ... he actually made you feel like a friend rather than just a fan ... so so sad ... 🙁

I have listened to it and it is very good. Unfortunately it is only in MP3 format at the moment, which is how "Anthonyspare" received it. Don't know if the chap who sent it to him has the original WAV files, hopefully if he has maybe they will be made available. In the meantime ...

This is my friend Roger's link to the MP3
