New Season Tuesday 4/14. Who'll be throwin' the hook on the Cornelia Marie? Can't wait to see Captain Harris as a Captain. I'll bet Phil was smokin' in heaven watching it and smiling.

In case you missed it, the Cornelia Marie did not get out in the water to start the run with the other boats in the fleet. They needed parts for the engine, which arrived but were still missing one part. So they are delayed. Sig had some of his crew move Wild Bill's boat, while Wild Bill was out watching fireworks that the Hillstrands set off each year prior to the fleet going out to fish. Wild Bill thought somebody stole his boat when he went to check on it. Johnathan (Hillstrand) felt bad for Wild Bill and tried to tell him in a coy way that he did not remember his boat being where Wild Bill knew he had parked it, he tried to direct him to where he saw the boat. Sig did admit it to Wild Bill that he and his crew were responsible. Wild Bill realized it was such a effed up thing for someone to do, he could not react to it the way Sig thought he would. There are new greenhorns on the boats and it is competitive this year. Edgar is dealing with disc issues in his neck, ongoing back troubles, 2 ribs that are dislocated and he will have to catch 90,000 lbs. (3X the amount as last year) of Bairdi crabs (also called Tanner crabs) this year. The quota on Red Crabs was lowered, but the quota on Bairidi's was increased.

In addition to everything else there was an "epic" typhoon during the season, so we will see how they handled that. I remember that typhoon from our Accuweather weather updates, glad they all came thru it.

It will be another great season. If you missed the first show, tune in next week Tuesday 9 pm, or tune in earlier to watch The Bait, even that is different. Mike Fourtner is doing The Fourtner Report on it, a new segment. Tuesday night fishing is like Sunday football, just kick back and make a night of it.
