Well amigos - looks like another year gone as we Whipping Posters brawl along our miserable way, tormenting, harrassing, badgering, insulting, and generally behaving in ways we would never get away with anywhere else. I thought it would be nice if we could bury the hatchet (somewhere other than in the skull) for this one thread and talk about the past year, ups, downs, funnies, sads, outrages, notable posts.
It would also be a good time to nominate Whipping Posters for singular 2016 achievement awards.

I still choose to come to the Whipping Post even though the activity has dropped off so dramatically through the years. I haven't filed the void by going to other sites for this interaction, I still just come here. Well, I do post about college football on another site to get the interaction on that topic I need! But I guess my interest in debating some of the other issues has dropped off with the overall activity. It just isn't as fun or as enlightening when fewer people bring fewer ideas to the board. But I still come. And I'm sure I will as long as the site is here.

I will second the nomination of Gina. There seem to be a number of posts listed without nominations. That's ok. Haha nebish like you I just keep returning to the Whipping Post. Pathetic and sadomasochistic though it may be I enjoy the honesty and occasional bit of wisdom.
Upside is this small rabid community has immunized me from the web. HTW is pretty much the only site I visit. I don't browse at all, just some email and the occasional purchase. I see that as very healthy. Almost revolutionary, liberation from the matrix. Thanks to you all for that. LOG OFF AND LIVE! (bumpersticker I came up with)
