When I drank, I liked Bud, but you're right, it was a guaranteed headache especially if you drank draft. I drank a lot of Bud Light, too, which is another very mediocre beer.

Of the mass produced beers, I probably liked Coors as well as any. Coors bathed in a cooler of ice just seemed to work on a hot summer day.

Interesting marketing ploy, but since Schlitz is no longer viable, I guess Budweiser is America's beer.

Now will Bud Light be American Light?

I can drink Bud Light if nothing else is available, but Bud gives me a headache.............

I drink Bud, PBR, or whatever is cheaper on sale at the local grocery. I like them all. What I don't like is all those prissy craft beers that are the rage these days. And if you put fruit in your beer you can't sit next to me at the bar.

I was quite fond of craft beers, especially IPAs and Belgian Trappist Ales. But, I don't like those fruit infused beers, either. Take that back. I liked Sam Adams Cherry Wheat.

The last beer I had was a PBR and that was 7 years ago. Somehow, I could never master the concept of moderation. 😮

I drink Heineken, Stella, PBR, Rolling Rock, Miller Genuine Draft, Beck's, Peroni, Coor's.

I did like Bud's advertising campaign where they sorta poked fun at craft beers, the guy flicking the fruit off his draft at the bar, celebrating how large they are vs. small craft breweries - I thought all that was good advertising.

I've been through a lot of craft beers, but come back to my ole standards.

My fondest memory of Budweiser goes back to my first year of College. I was asked to meet up at one of my buddies' homes for a hoops tournament. Being only 19 and the guest of one of the wealthier families in my group of friends, I didn't expect Ice Cold Bud to be doled out at the tourny's end. But there it was, iced down in about 5 of those 1/3 sized garbage cans and I mean iced......So the games end and Mr. "Smith" has his sons bring these out of the house and into the backyard where the BB court was....Man, our collective eyes about popped out of our sockets when all those beautiful red and white cans buried in ice made the scene.....

To this day, the best beer(s) I've ever tasted.

The best thing about Budweiser is the Clydesdales. And the Superbowl ads.

There are indeed some craft beers that have fruit or spices to them that are not my thing. However, once you've tried some good ales, porters, or stouts, it's tough to settle for Bud.

Bud is the Richard Marx of beer. Or the Shaun Cassidy.

Whatever they name it, it's still Buttwiper. I was really into the premium beers until I quit everything 5 years ago. But in my 20's and 30's I drank a lot of Coors Light. Just never liked Buttwiper.

Man, you sure brought back some memories. In high school I spent a lot of time at my best buddy's place. I never ONCE saw his Dad without a can of Olympia in his hand............it was like it was part of his body. Talk about some hard core alcoholism............

Ah yes, the budget brands -- had forgotten about Olympia -- & their claim "it's the water" -- that it was -- wasn't much beer to it -- they had what they called 3.2 beer when I was in college -- pretty much the same thing -- watered down beer, Yuck

What about Stroh's, the world's only fire-brewed beer -- that actually was a cut above the rest of em, like Blatz, Fort Schuyler, Milwaukee's Best etc --

One of my favorites is Old Style. I used to get fully krausened on that stuff.

I lived in Olympia for several years, drank Olympia beer, toured the brewery on occasion and spotted my share of Artesians.

Sad to say, Olympia beer was bought out by Pabst, and then bought out by Miller, Olympia brewery closed, and for the last couple decades has been produced in California. Olympia is just Miller in a cool can.

In high school, the absolute cheapest of the cheap was Wiedemann. $2.99 a case.

My first liquor store job, we had a guy that came in every other day who was an absolute dead ringer for Dan Hagerty. His drink of choice? Why, Hamm's, of course! The beer refreshing!

A friend bought a 12-pack of Weidemann's and brought it to my dorm room. When it was gone, we were more bloated than drunk.... 😛

back in the mid to late eighties i drank alot of Bud. i would go to Alpine Valley for the summer Dead shows. i would buy like 20 cases of beer. then i would sell it for a buck a beer. i remember trippin balls for .......along time.....standing down on that little road between parking lots....where the swamp was. some others were there selling beer too....they would yell cold beer cold beer......so i start yelling warm beer warm beer. the peoplewho were really high bought beer from me.....lol....that was fun battled the import 2 bucks a beer people too with Bud

I drink Budweiser almost exclusively and drink quite a bit of it for probably 15 plus years now. It is just what I like. Very smooth, easy to drink tastes good enough. I drink beer for the effect more than anything else and just want something that tastes decent that I can pound a good number of. I drink the can or bottle dry to the last drop, no problem with that last swig like some other beers.

Some of my friends make fun of it due to foreign ownership. Then I busted my buddies balls on him drinking Lite saying it is foreign owned too. Didn't think he knew that.

Couple of my friends are pretty into the craft beers. Another friend of mine just likes to drink dark porters.

Pretty easy when I go anywhere...I know they will have what I want. Unless we are at a microbrewery then I just get the blondest beer they have. Seems to work.

Coors light is about the worst mainstream beer I've ever had. Avery brewery in Boulder was the best micro brew I've had with a few selections I actually liked maybe as well as Bud!

I was at a buddy's and I ran out of Bud. Was searching through the fridge and found a 4 pack of Heddy Topper. If you are into craft beers then no doubt you know about Heddy Topper. I didn't. I cracked one open walked into the living room and said this stuff isn't bad. My friend's jaw dropped as he had been saving the 4 pack for a special occasion. Empty cans of this stuff are collectible and a 4 pack is worth anywhere from $60-100 I guess. I told him it is almost as good as Budweiser.

Me too. Growing up in the Bay Area we had "Burgie" .... Hamm's (From the land of sky blue waters...Hamm's the beer refreshing....Hamm's ) and Falstaff.....

When I was in college in Nashville, there was a place where we could get Blatz longnecks by the case for $4.99 (I think that was the price - it was insanely cheap) - warm - plus a dollar for a deposit on the bottles. We would save the bottles, so it was $4.99. We'd get a case or two of that, a bag of ice and a 6-pack of bud - cold. We'd ice down the Blatz and drink the Bud first. Combined with a bit of weed, we'd get pretty wasted

It really cracks me up that people make a big deal out of that.

No issues with:

Gin from England
Scotch from Scotland
Tequila from Mexico
Vodka from Russia, Poland or France
Rum from the Caribbean
Wines from France, Italy, Germany, Australia, South America, etc

But foreign owned beer? Outrage! 😛

Quart for .99 including tax at Sampson's Deli in downtown Knoxville in the '80's. I remember that because I had a bum come up to me one day and ask for a specific amount of money - like 23 cents. I asked him why he wanted just 23 cents and he said "a quart of Wiedemann is 99 cents at Sampson's and I have 76 right now." I usually didn't give money to the bums downtown, but I think I gave him a couple of bucks just for telling the truth about what he was gonna do with it.

There was a reason for my not giving handouts and it stemmed from the onslaught of homeless on downtown Knoxville during the 80's. For example, a friend of mine - around that time - had a bum tell him he was hungry, so he went in a deli and bought a sandwich and gave it to the guy. He went on down the street and when he was on his return trip, the bum was on the sidewalk trying to sell the sandwich my friend had just bought.
