Nobody cares enough to be outraged enough to actually reform the system. Trump said he will take care of the veterans when he gets in, maybe he will.
i have a friend who was diagnosed with acromegaly at 50 yrs old. he had served in the military in early 80's and never used the VA or any other medical service. i convinced him to go to the VA 5 yrs? ago. since then they have done multiple surgeries on him and he has no complaints at all. they removed his pituitary.....operated on his neck replaced a hip and he still has alot more to go. since they removed his pituitary he need monthly hormone shots.......he says they are very nice people who care.
that doesn't mean they can't improve or do not make mistakes.....but....lets just say my friend is ok with his treatment.
oh, i forgot....they removed his huge thyroid also...it was choking him.
still needs another hip done and a knee and lower back.....till they find something else.

I can only say good things about the care my Dad got at the Dublin VA Hospital. The docs, nurses, and even the folks that mopped floors and cleaned up spoke to every body that passed by. If he was sick, he wanted to go to Dublin.
One of our best memories from there was when the Alzheimer had taken a heavy toll on his memory, but he hadn't lost all of it yet. He asked his nurse who was paying the bills for all this "hotel stuff". She replied to him "Oh, you paid the bill a long time ago, in full."
