Verizon Buying Yahoo

That's right the NSA will finally get around to surveilling all the yahews on yahoo. They leave no stone left unturned. And they will do it thru Verizon who was the first to offer up phone records during the hotly debated surveillance that grew so bad Rand Paul actually filibustered to try to stop the practices. It is a dark day for America when an innovative company succumbs to money, even though people who have liked it's spirit will ultimately get screwed over.

America’s largest wireless carrier Verizon says it is going to buy Yahoo Incorporation for $4.83 billion, a move which is expected to broaden the company’s digital reach. This will be Verizon’s second biggest purchase of a tech giant after it acquired AOL in 2015 for $4.4 billion. Yahoo will be rolled into Verizon's AOL operations but the move is already seen as an end of an era for a company that once defined the internet.

Bad news, but not surprising at all. Matrix creeping up. However, with all the mindless babble in here, Verahoo will have their hands full actually singling out anything or anyone of consequence.

Verahoo. I like that.

Yahoo is being sold because the shareholders idiotically turned down a $44 billion hostile takeover from Microsoft 8 years ago, went through several CEOs, finally placing a petulant child in charge and under her woeful decision-making, she cratered whatever valuation Yahoo had left.
The only thing surprising about this is that Yahoo found a buyer at any price.

Mayers quest to leave her mark on everything finally got to yahoo finance, the one yahoo page i visted regularly, until the "improved" version came out.

I agree. The new version sucks.

I like the part in Mayer's statement when she says she is looking forward to working under her new leadership at Verizon...someone is going to tell her the bad news, right? 😛
$55M golden parachute should ease any pain, though.
