CNN found the guy behind Trump in the red shirt who had opened his mouth in amazement at the comment. He is a Trump supporter but said he would have taken Trump to the shed to have a talk with him because these things are not said in public in the south. He said the people around him felt the same way. He was guarded but appeared honest and he said a lot with his shed talk. He also said this is the kind of stuff you talk about in the shed and not in public.
In this sense one could say it was a dog whistle and it was interpreted that way by his followers.

I don't think Trump is actually calling for one of his supporters to kill Hillary, although I think he chose those words to once again make sure he made the news cycle. The problem is that there are certainly some lunatic supporters of his that might take this as a call to kill Hillary or anyone else they deem as a threat to the 2nd Ammendment. I don't think Trump understands quite how dangerous his rhetoric is. There are a lot of nutcases out there.
Even Trump doesn't know what he's thinking so no one is in a position to determine whether his violent encouragement is serious except the Secret Service.
I agree that anyone listening to him could take it as a signal to assassinate someone - anyone who disagrees with Trump. He is, after all, the candidate of one of the two major political parties. He's not a fringe candidate. His calls to action are legitimized by the GOP until they have the guts to say otherwise in a united stand.

(CNN) - The daughter of Ronald Reagan is citing her father's shooting as evidence that comments like Donald Trump's recent blast against Hillary Clinton have real-world consequences.
"To Donald Trump: I am the daughter of a man who was shot by someone who got his inspiration from a movie, someone who believed if he killed the President the actress from that movie would notice him," Patti Davis wrote in a Facebook post that went up late Wednesday night.
"Your glib and horrifying comment about 'Second Amendment people' was heard around the world," Davis continued. "It was heard by sane and decent people who shudder at your fondness for verbal violence. It was heard by your supporters, many of whom gleefully and angrily yell, 'Lock her up!' at your rallies. During a campaign rally Tuesday, Trump had said "Second Amendment people" could do something to stop Clinton -- a remark some interpreted as inciting violence. Trump has accused the media of distorting his comments.

Trump campaign undergoes major overhaul
(CNN) - Donald Trump's campaign is undergoing a major staff shakeup with less than three months to Election Day, adding two officials to top posts overseeing his struggling campaign.
Trump has named Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News and a former investment banker, to the post of chief executive and promoted Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser and pollster to his campaign, to the position of campaign manager, Conway confirmed to CNN early Wednesday morning.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the news of the campaign overhaul.
Paul Manafort, the Trump campaign's chairman and chief strategist, will stay on as campaign chairman, Conway said.
"I look at it as an expansion of the team. Paul remains as Chairman," Conway told CNN.
The news came as tensions mounted inside Trump's campaign in recent weeks and as Trump's relationship with Manafort soured to the point that several people close to the campaign warned that a major staff shakeup might be imminent, sources close to the campaign told CNN.
The shakeup follows several weeks of negative headlines and alarming polls for Trump who is trailing Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, in nearly every key battleground state and lagging in the latest national polls.
In a statement from the campaign Wednesday morning outlining the changes, Trump said he was willing to do "whatever it takes to win this election."
"I have known Steve and Kellyanne both for many years. They are extremely capable, highly qualified people who love to win and know how to win," Trump said in the statement. "I believe we're adding some of the best talents in politics, with the experience and expertise needed to defeat Hillary Clinton in November and continue to share my message and vision to Make America Great Again."
The shakeup marks the second major change in the top rungs of the billionaire's campaign.
Trump just two months ago fired his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski after weeks of internal fighting between Lewandowski and Manafort, who was initially brought on to oversee Trump's efforts to stave off the possibility of a contested convention.

I watched that yesterday on TV. The surrogate is a goof. There is no logical explanation for his answer.
Quite frankly the surrogates for Trump have been awful or arrogant as the man, himself. I saw several one on ones with Kellyanne Conway in the last several days when her answers repeatedly had nothing to do with the questions asked. She's a pollster. When asked why Trump is losing in many of the battleground states, she responded about how percentages of voters feel how untrustworthy HC is...another diversion of an answer.
Anybody seen surrogate Boris Epshteyn's interviews? He may be more arrogant than Trump. What a piece of work this guy is.
Then there was the interview I saw with one of Trump's tax advisors. When questioned about the non release of the tax returns by Trump, this guy launched off on the Clinton Economic Plan.
